This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician on how to diagnose and repair the vehicles with engine Regular Production Option Code LT1 or LT4 with no oil pressure. Technician will gain access to the engine oil pan and look for the raised marking if there is a marking by the part number the vehicle will need to repaired if the marking is not there follow Service Information diagnostic for Oil Pressure Diagnosis and Testing. For vehicles with the mark on the oil pan inspect pickup tube to see if dislodged. If the pickup tube is dislodged, main bearings will need to be inspected. For vehicles were the pickup tube is not dislodged replace the pickup tube bolts with part number 11519374. Technician will clean the bolts holes and apply Loctite 243 to threads of new bolts.
