Summary
THIS PRELIMINARY INFORMATION COMMUNICATION PROVIDES INFORMATION TO THE TECHNICIAN ABOUT VEHICLE THAT MAY HAVE AN IDLE HANGING HIGH AFTER A THROTTLE IS SNAPPED. THIS CONCERN MAY BE CAUSED BY TWO ISSUES. THE FIRST ISSUE REQUIRES A GEAR SHIFT INTERACTION; THIS ONE IS AN EXTENDED HANG TYPICALLY AROUND 2000 RPM. THERE WAS ALSO AN ISSUE WITH A SLOWER THAN NORMAL RPM DECAY AFTER A TIP-IN DURING CATALYST LIGHT-OFF. THE FIRST CONCERN ENGINEERING IS WORKING ON A FIX. THE SECOND CONCERN CAN BE FIXED BY UPDATING THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE.
