This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician with the steps to diagnose and repair vehicles that have Malfunction Indicator Lamp on with Diagnostic Trouble Codes P0264 or P0265 and P0300. This may be due to a wiring concern at the #2 fuel injector. Technician will gain access to the fuel injector be removing the intake manifold. Inspect the fuel injector wiring for #2 fuel injector for a rub condition on the water outlet bolt boss. If there is no rub found, continue with normal diagnosis in Service Information for these codes. If a rub or chafe wiring concern is found repair the wires with shrink tube.
