Air bag light has been on for a long time.but I noticed a puddle of gas under car and had to take it in to get fixed I have read on here many problems with this same issue hopefuuly it will be a recall

When parked I keep smelling strong gas smell. I started to worry as it got stronger and stronger so I looked under the car and found gas leaking down the back side and front side of the gas tank. I feel that it isn't safe at all and I have to have this car for work and travel but cannot afford to have it fixed due to GM not producing up to standards. Fuel line rotted out near middle of car. It was not leaking when I left the house, but smelled of gas when I got to work, and was missing a significant amount of fuel. The same thing happened to my in-laws who have a Cobalt. Absolute junk, with no thought of being designed with corrosion resistance in mind. Underside of car is hosed off every other week during winter months, not other vehicles have experienced fuel line failures despite increased relative age.
