Cobalt 4-cyl

  • 7,000 miles
We purchased the car new on 12/1/08. Mileage 75 miles. We've taken the car to three dealerships with a complaint of noise in the steering column. It was determined a lower bearing in the steering column was faulty and the steering column was replaced. To date the steering column has been replaced 7 times because of the faulty lower bearing and G.M. says there isn't a fix for it. I'm concerned this could be a safety issue as it's a faulty steering column bearing and if it seizes I would assume it could cause a crash/wreck since steering would apparently no longer be an option.
