Same as the recall bulletin 15595 for the 2015 model year. Power steering intermittently goes out and goes back to normal after stopping/starting vehicle.

Sudden loss of power steering.
- Rocklin, CA, USA
I was driving 55 mph on a country road when a warning notification appear on my dash saying service Stabilitrack. My truck suddenly started to pull hard towards the berm of the road and was extremely hard to steer. I then got a message on the dash that service Power Steering. It was extremely hard to turn taking both hands to make a turn. I drove it straight to the dealership.

I get an intermittent power steering and Stabilitrak warning when driving, and the warning causes my power steering to shut down. The fault clears when I stop the truck and shut off the engine, but it reoccurs at regular intervals ranging from once per week to twice in one day. I took the truck to my local Chevrolet dealer, and they did a programming upgrade to the power steering module and a front-end alignment. This did not fix the problem. It appears that my truck has the same fault that caused the 2015 model to be recalled, so I would expect the dealer to be able to identify the problem.

Vehicle shuts off traction control and power steering intermittently. Two errors are thrown at the same time. Vehicle has to be shut off or battery disconnected to fix and then error happens again while driving

As I was driving in the icy weather feb 2022 going down a slight incline approx speed 10-15 mph on the road the power steering went out and the traction control lights came on and air bag light went off and I lost steering control wound up in a 6 ft drop off of a culvert may have lost consciousness briefly as I didn-??t know I was facing up and down and man living near the culvert came up to the truck asked if I was ok and said your not going anywhere your tires are off the ground and I did not realize I was air bags did not deploy as the airbag light malfunction came on prior so they did not deploy. I had to higher a crane operator to lift the truck out of the culvert and a wrecker to take it home.

Power steering and stabilitrak fail while driving randomly. Any speed, any steering angle. NUMEROUS times at highway speed. Loss of power steering completely. Will sometimes reset if truck is turned off, key removed, and turned back on again. Other times it takes a few restarts. This is dangerous and scary and it is identical to the 2015 Colorado/Canyon issue.
- Danbury, CT, USA
Vehicle has become prone to loosing Power Steering at any time in any conditions. A notice is given on the dashboard to the loss of the power steering. Sometimes a reset of the vehicle allows power steering to return. The randomness of losing power steering at any point in a serous safety issue. The issue was initially sporadic (once a year) but has become more frequent during the time of this writing (2-3 times a week). The frequency has prompted me to look into the issue further. Dealership states error code CO545 was received during a maintenance test drive where the issue also occurred. Code CO545 is related to the steering wheel torque sensor / steering assembly which was seen in US Recall #15595 / Canadian Recall 2016043 a number of years ago. The issues are very similar in nature yet regardless of the fix General Motors has put forth for its newer models. General Motors does not acknowledge the on going safety issue with this vehicle and its power steering. The customer is forced to cover the large costs of the fix in order to drive their vehicle safely.
