This vehicle was supposedly repaired in a previous recall, however the issue with the passenger seat airbag sensor persists. Recently it is increasingly difficult to get the sensor to work for the front seat passenger, and it goes on and off as the vehicle is driven. Either the repair was not adequate to completely resolve the problem or not actually completed.

I don't know if it's a takata inflator, but there was a recall for the 2007 Chevy Equinox, but, for some reason the recall did not have my wife's car's VIN # regarding this recall. So, her car did not receive a recall notice! what I'm upset about is, that she has low mileage on her car, and had the same problem, just recently, and it's the same model and year, regarding the recall, that did not involve her car! I was told by GM, that because her VIN # was not "in" the recall, that there was nothing that they could do, but if I wanted to, because it's a safety problem, that I could contact you! and "then" if you told them that it was a safety problem, which it is, that you could then, get in touch with GM, and they would take care of it! so, what can be done, this shouldn't be like this!!! please help us take care of this safety problem on my wife's 2007 Chevy Equinox if you would please! regarding the note below, my wife was simply driving, and the air bag light came on, and that was it. When I got in touch with GM, they did tell me that there "was" a recall on this, but because my wife's Equinox did not fall into their recall VIN #, that there was nothing that they could do! if it was a different model, year, etc. Then I could understand of course, but not when it's the same car, and model, that they recalled!!! thank you for your assistance, in any way!

This vehicle is one of several that have been reported to have problems with wheel speed and psi sensors, which then causes the traction control to believe computer wise it has no traction, therefore the light is always on and the computer sometimes shut the traction control off when it needs to be on. It also has airbag trouble with the passenger seat, also like the recall. However, despite the fact 2007's were issued this recall, it's saying my 'VIN' does apply to these recalls. Find that hard to believe when these things are messed up. Just want GM motors to awknowledge it's possible that this vehicle was mismanufactured.

My daughters 2007 Equinox, has the well known, passenger side airbag sensor failure problem. In.case of an accident the passenger side airbag will not deploy. This is an $800 +/- fix. Several thousand Equinox, torrent, Saturn and other GM cars built on this platform are affected. Several model years suffer from this ailment. "failure of the air bag to deploy can result in increased injuries or death." The Saturn sky and Pontiac solstice had this same problem and it was corrected recently under recall. It is my opinion that these vehicles should be recalled and this problem corrected.

Passenger airbag sensor does not register with airbag control module. Brought it to Chevy for repair. 600 bucks later and a new sensor, airbag still isn't responding. Chevy tells me I need a new airbag control module for 700 bucks, had already spent 1300 on that visit. Airbag does not register passenger, computer will not reset and sync with control module. This shouldn't require the entire module to be replaced, nor should I have to pay for this since this I've heard/read numerous cases all dealing with this issue on the same model and apparently GM refuses to recall (aside from the airbag reprogram when it first released) has been an ongoing problem since I purchased the vehicle from a dealer, who said they fixed it before I picked it up. Does work intermittently, when a larger person sits there, air bag does register.

The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 135,000.

The contact owned a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving 20 mph, the contact crashed into a concrete embankment to avoid colliding with another vehicle. The air bag failed to deploy. The contact sustained injuries to the right shoulder and left arm that required medical attention. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was destroyed and towed to a tow lot. The contact called allen tillery auto (located at 4573 central ave, hot spring, ar 71913, (501) 881-4160) and was informed that the air bag should have deployed since it was just installed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and did not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 135,000.

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox. While driving approximately 65 mph, both the front and rear driver and passenger side curtain air bags deployed without warning or an impact. The front seat passenger sustained an abrasion to the neck that required medical treatment. The failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The local dealer (jd byrider, 20941 euclid ave, euclid oh) and the manufacturer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 95,000.

My passenger side airbag does not tell when somebody sitting there so if I have an accident the airbag will not go off I don't think the sensor is working it has been replaced once already. My key gets stuck in the ignition I have to wait for it to click to get it out of the ignition

At 100,000 miles, the passenger airbag sensor failed and caused the vehicle to indicate that the airbag was not active, even when a passenger was in the front, passenger seat. I took it to the authorized dealer and referenced # 07V344000 recall but was told that my VIN did not fall within the recall, despite the similarity of the issues involved.

Passenger airbag light shows not on all the time-with or without passenger in seat. Message to service airbags on all the time. Now seatbelt light is flashing even when in use. Service stabiltrack light comes on and off. Reading all the other comments I see this is a common complaint. Recently had my car in to replace fuel pump that was a recall for others but a "special repair" for my car. Told dealer about problems with airbag and stabilitrak and was told it would cost about $150 each to do the diagnostic tests. What is it going to take for these problems to become recalls for all the affected cars?

The front seat passenger air bag will not come on when someone sits in the seat. I get a service air bag system on the driver info center. Took to dealer was told computer shows codes B0081 and B0074. Was told passenger presence system, namely the seat sensor was bad and needed to be replaced. Repair estimated at $1100. This is a common complaint in GM vehicles. The vehicle is designed to have the airbag deploy during a collision considering the use of safety belts and deformation of the vehicle's structure. Service air bag system warning light comes on and stays on when ever the ignition is turned to the on position. It does not matter if anyone or anything is in/on the seat, or if vehicle is standing still or in motion.

Good morning, I am writing from guatemala city, guatemala C.a. I bought, from the local dealer, cofio stahl, the Equinox 2007 on June 2007. Approximately 5 years ago my vehicle showed an airbag system ' passenger sensing problem, which was overlooked by the dealer, even though they had my car on their workshops at least twice a year since 2008 for maintenance and oil change. Recently I found on the web the FMVSS noncompliance recall, bulletin 07174 dated August 2007, which clearly indicates that the problem of my vehicle is due to a GM safety recall. Having handed the bulletin to the local GM dealer, they reluctantly performed the service procedure as indicated, however the problem was not solved and they are not willing to pursue with the solution at no charge, neither will they receive my car as partial payment for another vehicle. I took the Liberty of writing to you in the hope to find a solution, since now I am stuck with a car that the dealer would not receive and I cannot sell if the problem is not solved.
