I have had similar issues to all of the other complaints listed regarding the Engine, fuel pump, timing belt, oil consumption and engine noise. I purchased this vehicle in November 2009. In June 2011, the engine light and stabilitrak lights started to come on. Shortly after that, the car stalled on the highway. The problem was a broken timing belt that caused damage to the engine. The car was at the dealership for about a week getting fixed. The next problem came in August, 2012 when I was getting engine lights and stalls at intersections. The result was a replaced fuel pump. In December 2012, the check engine lights once again came back on and the car started stalling again at intersections and I noticed a severe engine rattling noise . This time, the dealership claimed it was due to low oil levels causing misfires. Odd, since I have had the oil checked and replaced very regularly (more often than the "engine oil life" indicator on the vehicle has said). The car stopped stalling, but the engine has only gotten louder in the last month. After reading so many complaints from others about how their vehicles burn through oil, I checked mine today and it is very low. Won't somebody please help us resolve these issues???

Since day 1, I have had nothing but problems with this car. Yesterday, 04/10/2013, took it to the dealer because the car died on me at a stop sign. When I restarted it, it ran O.K., but sh*tty....if that makes sense.

Took it to the dealer, and the usual, "Car Has No Oil in it", then the service rep told me that GM admitted a flaw in the design / production of engine...I said Oh Well, change the oil and add it to the list of problems.

An hour later got a call from Service Rep and GM has authorized an engine replacement....Geezzz I hope this one is better then the last one..

I can,t ay enough good things about Robert Chevrolet in Hicsville, NY. I brought the SUV in because of engine noise. They replaced the timing chain in May 2012 and provided me with a rental car. I went back today 9/30/12 because the noise is back and now i was told that the engine is defective and has to be replaced because the rings are bad. Once again it will be all covered NO CHARGE to me. GM still has no recall issued for this problem and my dealer alone has 3 Equinox's in for the same problem, all have new engines coming. To be continued.
