Gripe. I thought I was crazy. Every time I took my husband out to hear the noise when I started it the car was fine. Finally, one day the check engine light came on and it stalled in the middle of the road. We took it in and at first they said everything seemed OK. After a day they said the computer indicated that I had a defective actuator. The noise is still randomly happening but I seem to be the only one who hears it.

starting the engine in the morning after sitting for a while.. engine sounded like baseball cards on the spokes of a bicycle..progressively got longer and louder each day ..bought it into dealer..replaced the camshaft actuator..that was on 11/4 ..it is now 11/21, and its coming back ..so back to dealer again. not happy..

Car in shop after 1 month. rough noise on startup. Also, stalls and check engine light comes on!

car is making intermittent noise when started - only happens for a few seconds but there is something CLEARLY wrong
dealer has car now but cannot tell what the problem is.
i have seen others online complaining about the same problem - chevy needs to acknowledge this as a problem with the auto
because it doesn't happen all the time doesn't mean it doesn't happen.
i am afraid the car will not start someday

Gripe what gripe! When the service man wanted to give me the keys back because they could not find the problem that is when I blew a head gasket . I had repeatedly told him to keep it a few days because this problem does not occur all the time and that sooner or later he will hear this very loud. noise. I demanded that they keep the vehicle for a few days and drive it. I will pay for the gas. I often go to Florida and do not want it to break down.

I guess I'm a victim as well to the equinox start up problem. Most of the time when I do a cold start, it sounds like the engine is going to drop out from under me. ALSO !!!!!! The transmission problem is really starting to piss me off as well. I noticed when driving at low speeds, say around a parking lot the car jerks me around like crazy from time to time. When I'm stopped at a red light and then start to move, it feels like I'm about to stall on the road. So next week is my first appointment and I'm sure this won't get fixed since I haven't heard any success stories as of yet. So now I fear I'll have to go under the NY state lemon law but I'm coming up on 18k miles so I guess I'm stuck with this or have to trade it in, I'm sure I'll get screwed like all the others. Thanks Chevy.
