The electronic power steering turns off on a constant basis while driving the vehicle and all power steering is lost !

Takata recall, don't know is the airbags are in my vehicles. Got a airbag recall letter. Have called dealer two times wrote down dates. Dealer said parts weren't in they would call us when parts are in they also told us vehicle is safe to drive. Vehicle. If its a safety recall and people are getting hurt and killed how is it safe to drive" I have a number of recall letter on my HHR. How many are to many ? if you read all recalls the vehicle is a rolling death trap. You need to know I wrote Chevrolet a letter 05-31-2015 to ask them if my vehicles were in the airbag recall Chevrolet did not write back they called I recorded the conversation. The Chevrolet person I spoke with told me there were no recalls on my vehicles.I didn't build the vehicle so why am I getting punished for there mistakes.some of the recall letter from GM recalls they want fix unless your having trouble. If they send you a recall letter why want they fix it right then. On one recall I had fixed it took then 2 years to figurer out they had not finished the repair. Do you call that safe" Chevrolet has made a vehicle that's loaded with problems. I feel that I am due a full refund. Chevrolet (GM) mislead people on this vehicle. I have a number of recall letters I'm sending you. I also have a recorded airbag recall phone call. The airbag recall is on my 2009 Chevrolet truck.

This is a safety issues as you turn a corner or try to lane change and all of a sudden you have to yank the wheel! you have other cheverlot models recalled for this, the 2008 HHR needs to be included in this. Not safe.

The mileage is 84475. On several occasions over the past couple of days, our power steering has been randomly shutting off while we are driving on city streets and on country lanes. It started a couple of days ago. If you pull over and shut the car completely off and back on, the power steering may come back for for the rest of the trip or it may just keep shutting off. The dealership replaced the motor the first time and now they are refusing to replace the steering column when the recall letter clearly states if all components need to be replaced including the steering column than they shall.

I keep have a problem with my power steering going out and it's getting more frequent as of late. I did see that recalls have been issued for model years surrounding mine and the same year in other vehicles made by Chevy. I also see that I am not alone as others are complaining about the same issue. I think Chevy needs to look at this vehicle again and consider doing the right thing and recall the 2008 Chevy HHR power steering motor as well. This is a dangerous problem and needs to addressed because I have had it go out in the middle of a turn and narrowly missed a tree trying to turn.

Whenever I am driving, the steering wheel will suddenly lock up for seemingly no reason. I can be go anywhere from 35 mph to 70 mph. It's caused me to nearly get into multiple wrecks. I'm forced to pull over, turn off the car, and turn it back on and then the wheel is perfectly fine after. It happens in the middle of driving. I'm scared to keep driving this car but it's my only way to work every day. I have no choice. My car dealership has said many HHR's have been recalled in the past due to power steering issues. While my daughter was driving, power steering failed, dash indicator came on and she was unable to turn the wheel while in the intersection. Luckily she was on a quiet street was able to stop the vehicle safely, shut it off, then restart. Power steering was resumed after restarting. This could have happened anytime and caused an accident. Recalls show on cobalt which has same power steering for this model year, but not on HHR. 2009 and 2010 HHR have recalls as well. This is a major safety concern, why is there not a recall to repair? many, many reports on the internet of same problem.
