About a year and a half ago my right tail light went out, replaced the bulb. About 9 months after that it went out again, replaced it. About 3 months after that it went out again, replaced it again. About a few months later it went out again, replaced it again. 3 weeks later it went out again, replaced it. One week later it went out again.... I have not replaced it yet because the last time my husband said that the light holder is melting. Each time we replaced the bulb we bought the recommended bulb.

*this an update on file number-# 10672324-2010 Chevrolet HHR-shifter problem on my last filing I stated that we had another recall on our 2010 Chevrolet HHR. Previous recalls were the ignition switch and the power steering system. But I found out that the key getting stuck when the car is in park, is not a official "recall, but it should be! we received a letter warning us of the problem and if it occurred, GM would fix it for free. Well, as I reported, it did happened. My husband parked the car, and we were preparing to go to his doctor"S' appt. & to an evening service & the key got stuck. No power, no nothing, we tried everything. And that thing that the manual said would help us release the key, was not there. So the car, sat there draining the battery. Dr. appt's were missed. And because we both had appt's coming up, we had to rent a car. But to sum it all up. When the toll driver came, he was able to jump the car, and the key came out. After taking the car to the dealer, they could not duplicate the problem. They said that the battery was gone. But it was fine before the key got stuck. They refused to change the shifter. We got a new battery, and are praying that we won't get stranded if it happens again. And we are going to continue to fight for ourselves and for others! no reimbursement for the battery or the rental. We have made our complaints to the management at the dealer & to GM. And one more thing, our first sign of trouble before parking the car, was that the air bag light would not go off. An issue also after the new ignition switch was put in. This is a recall item. But once again, GM cares more about saving a dime. Not lives. Not a safety issue? I can think of few scenario's that say that they are wrong!-thank you, and "be blessed" [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

This a recalled 2010 Chevrolet HHR. We had the ignition switch recalled, power steering system recalled, and right after the ignition switch was installed, the keys stop working and we had to get towed. Now, the airbag light came on. And when we went to re-start the car, nothing. The power went totally out, and the key is still stuck in the ignition switch. About a few weeks ago, we got another recall notice from GM that the transmission shifter may not properly transmit an electrical signal properly that will cause the key to stay in a lock position. We are now stranded. And we have to once again get the car towed to the dealer and pay for a rental. And there are still so many recalled cars at the dealer that they are so behind. All of this is going on while GM is showing off their new cars at the detroit auto show. Cars that will probably soon be on another recall list. Enough is enough!! all Chevy HHR owners who have had more the one recall on it, should be allowed to turn the car in without penalty or charge. All car notes should be cancelled!-thank you. And "be blessed"-[xxx] in C/O [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I am getting the runaround from rydell Chevrolet in northridge, ca with regard to this recall. Called shortly after receiving first recall notice to order parts, told no parts available yet. Went in for service in August, ordered the parts for the recall. Called in September because I hadn't heard anything over 3 weeks and was told I didn't need to order parts, they had them and no problem, come in and get repaired. I couldn't come until this month, I called for an appointment to replace the recall parts, appointment tomorrow morning. Received a call today, no parts available for the recall repair will have to order them. Really"?" I have 2 pieces of mail I received Friday, 11/21/14 that say "your ignition switch recall parts are now available" with the info for rydell northridge, ca inviting me to make an appointment now! this is ridiculous!. GM may want to fix these problems but the dealerships sure do not.

I asked for a warranty repair on my airbag. The dealer got the part and sent it back on 7-13-12. They never called, emailed or wrote me a letter. I was never contacted.. recently. GM recalled my keys, I asked about my airbags. For the first time, on 9-12-14, [xxx] was the only service employee who told me the part is not at the dealer and it was sent back 2 years ago and if I wanted it I would have to pay almost $400 for it. I had detrimentally relied on the representations of at least 13 different contacts with service people, over this period of time, with this service department to honor the repair. [xxx] copied the service work order sheet and gave me a copy of it. There was no mention or notation of a phone call ever been made, on it. [xxx] and [xxx], service managers at james martin Chevrolet 6250 woodward ave. Detroit, Michigan 48202, refuse to honor the airbag repair although they are repairing other model airbags daily on a open safety recall from the nstb. General Motors representative [xxx] at 1-866-790-5600 extension [xxx] refuses to honor the repair although he has open recalls on other models for the same issue. Since General Motors has a history of exploding airbags causing crashes and several open recalls on several models, I am certain that this one (2010 HHR) should be added to the list for safety concerns. Also, the running lights have a safety issue too, on almost all models the daytime running lamps and regular lights have the right headlight out. This is not a coincidence, it is a known design defect and all GM products from 2010 forward and should be recalled as the lights cause a safety hazard. In summation, I want the 2010 HHR recalled for their right headlights and their airbags. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

David stanely Chevrolet Oklahoma city was notified in may that we need to take care of the recall notices on the power steering and ignition. They said it would take 6-8 weeks to get the parts. As of the 4th of August they have made no attempt to fix these recalls and we are now being told we have an appointment to have it inspected for parts on Sep 18th. Is this how GM is handling all these recalls?

On Sunday, March 31st, 2013, my vehicle was locked in the running position and it was impossible to get my key out of the ignition. The vehicle continued to run until I was able to contact a local car expert who was able to pull the fuel pump fuse to get the engine to stop running. The next day, this same person took the vehicle in to his shop and replaced the "ignition lock cylinder" per a "silent" GM recall. Soon after this incident, I began hearing about a GM recall on the "ignition switch". I was then sent a letter from GM to that effect. The letter also stated that I could be reimbursed for work done if I had repairs made on my own. When I applied for a refund for the labor cost that I incurred, I was notified by the team Chevy of valparaiso, in dealership and told that I would not be compensated for by expenses because the current recall was for the "ignition switch" and not the "lock cylinder". I tried to explain that the other part was also a part of a previous recall; however, the rep refused to acknowledge the issue with the "lock cylinder". after doing some online research, I have found that many people have also experienced this same "locking in the run position issue". for this reason, and the fact that GM is once again slow to acknowledge a dangerous defect in a vehicle with a history of dangerous defects, I am writing to file an official complaint. At this point, I do not feel safe in my vehicle. I currently have two recalls out on my car and have already replaced by power steering assist motor after it failed on a busy highway in the middle of a left hand turn. There are a series of major flaws with this vehicle and GM needs to take responsibility for the safety of its customers and make this right. I would also hope that the NHTSA can influence GM to expand their recall to cover all ignition related problems.

The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet HHR. The contact stated that she received NHTSA campaign number: 14E021000 (ignition switch). The contact stated that after the vehicle was serviced for the recall, the vehicle engine stalled when stopping for traffic lights. The contact also mentioned that all of the warning lights, including the "disabled air bag" warning light, illuminated prior to the engine stalling. The vehicle was able to restart. The failure recurred on multiple occasions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the failure was undetermined. In addition, the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where they diagnosed that the security feature chip needed to be replaced which was the cause of all the security lights illuminating. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unavailable.
