My complaint concerns my 2007 Chevy Impala transmission floor shifter is locking in park.. I could not depress the button on the floor shifter, to shift to reverse. I tried turning the steering wheel which of course is locked when the vehicle is in park. I am worried that next time it will not get unstuck. So I checked the internet and saw many comments about 2007 Impala shifter's locking and realized I needed to file a complaint.

Car was running good but all of a sudden the ac went out then the traction control light came on then the check engine light....after the light turned green it stalled nearly gettin hit by another car with my toddler in the car I use to be a Chevrolet fan but now I hate the car I demand on behave on all the Impala series owners with a full refund I currently have the car in the shop I hope GM plans to reimburse me.

I was driving down the road suddenly check engine light came on speed reduced get a reduced power/traction control message and speed drop to 40 in matter of seconds engine running very rough. Almost caused a accident due to this happening at the morning rush hour on commute to work. I looked online this seems to be a common complaint that there needs to be something done about it. I have had other issues (eg: Steering mid-shaft failure front end shimmy, brake issues, connector to rear defrost melting, wires in shifting console breaking to where couldn't remove keys or get out of park) with this vehicle and called GM about them and they assign a case number and tell you sorry you will need to pay and keep receipt if there is ever a recall issued.

After driving it for many years and having no problems, I drove it a short distance and parked and could not remove the key, I tried taking it out of park and putting it back in park and after trying that several times and it not working I tried (jiggling the shifter when it was in park) and it released. It happened again for the 2nd day in a row. I will bring it to a local repair shop after the weekend is over and see if it is a bad wire or something.
