Make : Chevrolet model : Malibu year : 2000 NHTSA campaign id number : 03V327000 recall date : Aug 27, 2003 component: Exterior lighting:hazard flashing warning lights:switch potential number of units affected : 670740 my 2000 chev Malibu ls has had the problem associated with the above recall for two months and the chev dealership and GM have refused to cover the repair. Today I paid for the service myself but want a refund. I have spoken with GM but they said no.

Consumer had a mechanic examine the vehicle and determined that the hazard warning switch needed replacement. There was a recall on this make, model, and year. But this vehicle was not included in the recall due to VIN.

However, my vehicle has a build date prior to the build date covered by this recall. It would seem to me that the faulty componet was being used earlier than originally thought.

When the switch was turned on a buzzing noise started and he lights would not work.
