Malibu

I got in my car to go to work and when I started it the message power steering showed up on the dic. I shut off the car and restarted it to no avail. Later in the day when I started my vehicle the power steering was back but the steering would pulse back and forth and eventually the message appeared again and I lost power steering. I believe this should be recalled because the power steering goes in and out randomly and when not expecting it could cause an accident and because it happens at all speed it could ultimately lead to death. I know there is a bulletin out for this type of problem but I don't see how and ignition coil has anything to do with the power steering.

Bought this car from a Nissan dealer as a used car in June 2012, it is the lt ve model. The problem is: While turning left with acceleration the steering wheel jerks right, at times it can be jerked out of the hands (depends on acceleration speed), also a clunking noise from left front wheel at times (with or without engine running). Sometimes while driving at 55 mph or better, taking a left handed curve, steering will become stiff and hard to turn. This has not caused any accidents yet but it could in the future resulting in serious injuries or death.

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while driving 55 mph, the steering wheel became abnormally loose. The failure caused turns to be completely abnormally wide. In addition, the steering wheel seized without warning. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who performed a diagnostic and located the failure at the power steering pump. The dealer replaced the power steering pump however, the failure was not corrected. The failure recurred later as the contact was driving 55 mph. The contact was unable to turn the wheel in either direction. The vehicle was turned off momentarily and once restarted, the power steering function had returned to normal. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer for further inspection. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure and current mileage were 130,000.

Vehicle became hard to turn and shortly showed power steering code on radio. GM was contacted offered no help because it ran out if warranty a couple of months ago. All other year Malibu with same electric power steering have been recalled except 2007 models, which has same mechanical components as other models and same complaints. Two days ago power steering completely went out can no longer move vehicle. Was driving at approximately 30 mph slowing down when it decided to quit. GM still offers no help. Someone is going to get. Hurt if they do not include this vehicle, 2007 Chevy Malibu, in the recall.

While driving on a straight part of the road going about 45 I felt the steering wheel jerk to the left turning the car into on coming traffic, I had to pull very hard to the right to keep from hitting another car head on. Then a few days later the same thing happened only this time it jerked to the right causing me to run into a ditch. I am scared to drive this car but have to it is the only one I have to get to work and back. GM needs to recall this car a fix the steering problem before some gets killed.

I was driving my Malibu when suddenly the steering became uncontrollable. I managed to pulled the car to the side of the road. I shut the engine down. I pulled out my manual for the 2007 car and I was directed to the kind of power steering that was supposed to be installed in my car. The manual indicates that the 2007 manual for my Chevrolet Malibu ltz with a V6 engines should have a hydraulic power steering system in place. It also shows by illustration the position of the power steering reservoir. I took the car to a Chevrolet dealer in arlington, MA. And the mechanic said this car has no power steering reservoir. I showed him the manual and he said there's something wrong here. Call GM customer care and maybe they can resolve the problem because they wrote the manual.
