There is something wrong with the steering that cause the cruise control to accelerate while driving, there is issues with braking in the, the transmission is sticking or not always working, and the car shakes or requires you to force turn it at low speeds like up exist ramps. This has gone on for quite a while I have called several dealerships and the main number on the recalls and they just keep telling me no parts are available. This is my only car and I have no money for another how do they expect people to depend on their cars or survive when transportation is needed. Why aren't these parts being made faster or why aren't people provided any other solutions?

I think the recalls are a big safety issue for me. I have a 2 yr old son and not able to get the pieces fixed. My daughter was driving the Malibu and the steering cut out on her. She managed to get the car to the side of the road. She turned the car off and restarted it and the steering came back. About two months later my son-in law was driving the car and the steering cut out again. I asked both of them if there were any lights or chimes involved when the steering cut out. Both of them said no. The past couple weeks my son-in -law told me that it cut out again. I told him to take it to a dealer to find out what the problem is. The dealer told him that it might be the steering column, power steering motor or control unit, and it would cost around 700 - 1,000 -dollars. My son-in -law asked if there was a recall and the dealer said there is one but its hasn't been sent out yet. Then they had the audacity to charge him 55 dollars for the time spent on troubleshooting there own problem

This car steers from side to side never in the center. An when the wind blows its 5 times worse. They say its fine.it's a hard car drive U have to work the steer the car turn signals keep breaking.been this way since she bought it.

My vehicle started making a loud popping noise in the front when making a turn. The loud popping noise has now been happening just driving down the road and even worse at lower speeds of 20-35 mph. Along with a squeaky bouncing noise that is constant. I took it to my local dealership and I was told it had something to do with the steering column loosing it's lubrication and nothing can be done put replace the whole thing. The problem is so annoying and I feel like everyone can hear it. I am about to just trade it in on a Honda or Toyota even though I have only ever owned a Chevrolet.

This behavior continued until I reached my destination. I also increased my speed to 55 mph when I approached the expressway. I received a notice about a recall on the steering; however, the part is not available at this time. The dealership only replies with, we don't have a part. Is it safe to continue driving the vehicle" is my family in danger at this point" this is my only means of transportation & as a single mom, I need my car! please review & advise.

While driving on the interstate going 65 mph my steering start jerking and locking up couldn't turn left or right pull over to the side and let the car rest for about 15 mins. The first incident began while sitting at a traffic light. The steering wheel started to abruptly move to the left and right, oscillating back and forth quickly, with no contact from my hands. The wheel oscillated for about 10 seconds made a chime noise then stopped. I drove on towards the interstate and all appeared fine. I was traveling about 60 mph on the interstate when the steering wheel started to jerk to the right when I was trying to drive straight. When steered to the right to change to the far right hand lane, the wheel jerked to the left. The pavement was smooth and clean so I knew it was the car and not the driving surface. This continued for several miles. Holding the when in an effort to drive straight the wheel would jerk to the left and then the right. A couple of times it was so forceful I thought I would lose control of the vehicle. This problem reoccurred randomly for months until I paid the dealer to repair it. Googled Malibu steering issue and read that GM has recalled Malibu?S, and other GM models, doing the same thing. Took the car to the dealership and was told that even though my car had the same it was not included in the recall. I paid to have the steering motor and shaft replaced. It has been just over a year and the car is acting up again.
