Was driving on the highway and the ESC light cane on car started going every which way on it on !! I started going in the other lane while I was driving and almost wrecked !! luckily I was able to pull it over to the side of the road !! it is not driveable!! had to call aaa to come tow my vehicle home !!

While driving the power locks goes off. They go lock and unlock when driving down the road they unlock and lock when wr are at home and the ignition is off. Tge brake ligjts stay on like I am hitting the brake peddle and the cruis control wont work bc the break lights stay on it cuts it off. I have been hearing noises coming from the shifter area a buzzing noise like a wire has crossed.

The power steering message comes on when you start the vehicle and then says ESC off. Steering wheel won't turn. Turn the car off and most times if U turn the steering wheel while starting the car it will go off. Other times it takes 2 to 3 times of restarting. Tonight driving home the power steering light came on and the steering went out. Had to pull over and turn off the car and restart it. The steering wheel is shaking and vibrating all the time now.

ESC light came on while driving on 01-21. Morning of 01-22 was complete loss of power steering while trying to leave driveway. Ecs light remains on and power steering never returned even after 20 miles of highway and rural road travel. Extremely dangerous. Furious that only certain VIN #S are part of recall when it clearly affects the vast majority of vins for this model year.

When driving down the highway power steering will quit working and it becomes extremely hard to steer(very unsafe condition). By turning off the ignition and restarting, steering will be fine until it happens again(which it does, can happen at any time, again very unsafe)

A few days later driving down the highway ESC light comes on, wheel begins shaking and lost power control, tried to pull off and turn the car off, like before, the light will not go off. The ESC was turned off making it difficult to steer the vehicle. There was a recall for this issue but my vehicle was not included. How is that possible?! I have also had issue with the fuel pump, headlights and arm bars. I bought this as a used vehicle 3 years ago and have had nothing but mechanical issue after issue. Poorly manufactured vehicle. Including having to change out the entire fuse box.

While driving my ESC - enhances stability control light, ABS and traction control lights came on. When I stopped at a light and then tried to drive forward I was able to move my vehicle until the brakes kicked in and started slowing me down. After driving about 5mikes my husband who was driving behind me signaled to pull over. My brake lights were on and when I engaged the brake pedal to come to a stop the brake lights went off. After I released the brakes, and got out of the car with it still running my brake lights came back on.

The power door locks engage and disengage at random. When using the unlock button on the key fob or using the button inside the car, the passenger and rear door looks will partially disengage making it hard/impossible to open the door with out manually pulling the lock tab on the door. The electric stability control and traction control will random engage/disengage or display a service message on the cluster screen. The third break light illuminates at random, not always the break is applied. The radio will display random characters while on or go completely blank.

The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu. When the contact started the vehicle, "power steering" and "ESC off" was displayed and the power steering assist malfunctioned. The steering wheel became very difficult to turn in either direction. The failures were not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified, but the local dealer was not notified. The failure mileage was 153,000.

While driving, power steering stopped work. Steering got real hard and became real hard to turn my vehicle. There also seems to be some play (twitch) in steering column when stopped at a red light or stop sign. After a restart, it went away but same problem came back again the next day. There was message on dash regarding ESC sevice and power steering. It all sounds similar to the dorman recall on other GM vehicles.

When driving the vehicle the service traction service ESC & ESC off lights come off/on seems to be worse when I turn the vehicle will drive rough at times, also the cruise control will fail to work. Got a recall on this in 2017 took it into a dealer shop who applied gel to connectors said that fixed the problem, it certainly did not.I do not know if this is safe to drive my vehicle since it is the only one I own I do not have a choice. Since this has been going on for more than a year now I can not give an exact date but it does happen daily..I need the repairs made by GM not
