Doors lock and you cant get out of or in the car even if your holding an infant child and its 3 degrees outside and I can't use the unlock button to get in and the [xxx] key wont even open the door. Its just stuck and who knows for how long sometimes in last just 3-5 mins other others going on 40 mins. The headlights have been replaced 3 times countless tail lights. I had to put replace the windhield wiper assembly that one sucked I could not operate the car for a week unless it would rain and this was happening this April when its always raining they actually quit working on fourth of the July going 70mph down interstate 79 in pouring rain. I purchased as many rain deterrents as I could try out which none last but a few mins.. then between getting pulled over by police countless times for headlight being out and I fix it then the same one or even the other side the next week will go out just 1 month later it goes back out and that same cop stop you again and they don't believe you that it was just replaced. Then the interiour lights all of them from gauges and headlamps turn on. My car is currently telling me to service svc tire sensors and other abbreviated sensors and traction control light is on. Also and maybe the most dangerous is the cruise control malfunctions which range from only working occasionally to acceleration engages if you scroll threw screen options and use cruise control simultaneously. And sometimes my trunk will just pop open when the car starts. The plastic hub caps constantly fall off and the back of the drivers seat plastic backing has broken loose the steering colum it sounds like U joints that have worn or a hydraulic issue parts of this document have been redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

The car's power steering went out while I was in motion, turning in a parking garage. An error message displayed saying "power steering failure - service ESC". the first time this came up was about three months ago, and I took it to the Chevy dealership and they fixed it under warranty. This same problem just came up again and I am beginning to think that this is a known problem, given the amount of recall information I've seen about this issue.

Power steering light is on, while driving the steering wheel jerks like it is driving itself. I had my transmission replaced and the mechanic advised me to look into it stating I can loose steering at anytime. I called a Chevrolet dealership and they stated there was no recall on my VIN number. If it is happening to the 2009 Malibu, how can they distinguish which cars it is faulty in? in motion the steering jerks when sitting still the steering wheel moves by itself

When first got car doors locked and unlocked with remote for apps 1 week. Then over appx month stopped working 1 door at a time. At this point the power locks inside (on door) do not work and lock/ unlock intermittently and even if I can unlock manually my drivers door it still stays locked even when lock is in fully unlocked position. Quite scary for someone that drives alone at night and my doors are unlocking themselves. God forbid I do get into an accident and need to get out of the car quickly. Also this makes it so my panic does not work on my fob. Yes I've changed batteries multiple times. Also my power steering has been cutting in and out while moving most often during turns. What happens if I am moving on a highway and I cannot steer correctly? feeling very unsure of my safety at this point.

Power steering stop working while the car was in motion. The manual steering still work but it is harder. I stopped the car, turned off the engine and it works again. This is a safety issue. I called the dealership and they said I must bring the car in for a diagnosis test that will cost $144. If they found the problem, I will not be charged but if they do not find the problem I will be paid $144. I read the recall notices from NHTSA website but it indicated "some 2009 Malibu had this issues"

I am reporting two incidents! approximately 6 months ago my break lights starting turning on again (after the recall was fixed a year prior) while diving the vehicle. I would tap the breaks and the light would turn off (giving cars behind me the idea that I was breaking when I wasn't and when I was breaking to slow down, they couldn't tell). It still does this problem. Now as of 3/18/2017 while driving on the highway my "service ESC power steering" light came on. It was very hard to steer off the highway or even get the vehicle home. As I research my vehicle online, these two issues were recalled back in 2014. I don't know if my vehicle was serviced for the power steering recall as I bought the vehicle on 12/26/2014. I do know that the break light recall was serviced because I took my vehicle in for the recall. I have an appointment tomorrow at the Chevrolet dealer, but I know I'm going to have to pay $1200 to $1600 for this repair. Something needs to be done about these recalls! someone needs to make sure they don't continue to happen every year or every other year going forward.

Vehicle is stating service power steering and the steering wheel locks up and I am unable to drive my vehicle. From what I have read online this is known problem with 2009 vehicles but yet my car has not been included in the recall. It is not safe to drive my children in this vehicle, and I shouldn't be responsible for fixing a part that is obviously defective.

Sudden loss of power assist while in motion on city street. This made changing lanes and turning onto other streets very difficult, especially when it first occurred. Aaa towed the car and did a diagnosis check and said they received 2 codes for steering sensors. They said they could not repair my car and I would have to take it to a dealer. They did not charge be for the diagnosis but also did not give me the printed report. The power assist sis restore when the car was shut-off and restarted. How can it be that GM would would sell a vehicle that can suffer a total failure of the steering due to a sensor code without providing a fail safe mode? as the steering assist was restored with the shot-off and restart of the car, it was the ECU that failed and the assist motor was still in functioning condition.
