ALL ELECTRICAL INSIDE CAR GOES OUT OR ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING. ALL DASH GAUGES, SPEEDOMETER, GAS GAUGE, RADIO, HEAT/AC, TURN SIGNALS, ETC. CAR STILL RUNS BUT NOTHING ON INSIDE WORKS. I do not know if this control outage effects the ABS or Steering. It only last for a few seconds. It has happened several time will drive 50 to 70 MPH. I've let off the gas and try not to panic. Everything comes back on and I continue home. I'm scared to drive my car

Instrument cluster goes out and is available for inspection. It first went out in the middle of driving 80 on the freeway with others in my vehicle. I have taken it to a Point S mechanic who has confirmed the issue and can be easily recreated just by turning the car on. Nobody has inspected other than a mechanic because I did not know that was even an option. No, there was absolutely no warning to indicate the issue, only the check engine light would work and that issue has been temporarily resolved. Due to research, I, along with many others, have come to the conclusion that it is a fault in manufacturing where one of the resisters in the cluster was not soldered correctly causing a failure in connection. I believe there should have been a recall on the equipment, especially seeing as how common this issue is and that the product isn't even made/sold anymore. It is upsetting to see the ratio of 2 investigations compared to over 700 complaints.

Car is stuck in heat. Sometimes the controls come on by themselves and hard to turn off. Heat does not defrost the window it sometime make it worse and hard to see while driving. Was told that it is not the compressor but the wiring and programming of the control system. A recall for other years have been issued for similar issues. This is the third report filed.

On numerous occasions, vehicle has shut completely off. Because it is an eco engine, I assumed it was simply idling down, while stationary a traffic light or stop sign, as usual but that was not the case. The first couple of times the vehicle shutoff was at traffic lights, and drive through lanes. And then the vehicle shutoff while on the interstate at 70 miles per hour. Shortly after that incident, the check engine light came on. I replaced the battery but the car has still had to be jumped off three times since the replacement. And when I had those codes repaired, now the vehicle drives as if it isn't getting gas and then all of sudden it will jerk and accelerate quickly. Lastly, when the brakes are used on several occasions, the pedal will suddenly go all the way to the floorboard, then come and tighten to point I can barely press the brakes. I have replaced the brakes on three separate occasions and the mechanics do not understand what is causing that issue to occur.

The contact's friend owns a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while her friend was driving 10 mph, the battery saver warning light illuminated as the vehicle stalled and shut-off. Unable to restart the vehicle, the contact took the battery to an independent mechanic who informed her that her battery function was operating at full capacity and was not the cause of the failure. The contact then called chas. H. jenkins and co. (307 nc-42, ahoskie, nc 27910) where she was informed that there were no recalls on the VIN in relation to the failure. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA campaign number: 13V173000 (electrical system) which she linked to the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.

I been had this vehicle since 2018 nothing but issues few months having this vehicle I start experiencing issues with radio coming on and going off for no reason so took it to get looked at the said it was from wiring in the passenger side seat that was causing it so I paid $400 to get that fixed. But still was and is having same issues with electrical and now my heat comes on by itself even when the knob is in the off position. My passenger side seat belt warning goes off even when no ones in the seat. And to top it off my car been running bad engine overheating but nothing on my dashboard is telling me that but I can smell burning from my engine coming through my vents and it's exhausting. I have been to many shops to get it looked at but they keep saying nothing wrong no codes where coming up nor was my engine light on. But as of 3/29/2021 I had multiple icons pop up on my dashboard and now my engine light on. So I finally got a code P228D come up and I been explaining to auto shops that's something wrong because it's not wanting to pick up speed. So what can I do I'm tired spending money to get it looked at and all I'm getting from people nothing is wrong with your vehicle. But there is truly something wrong with this vehicle and it does this no matter where I'm at on highway, street, when I'm idle it's a loud noise and I can feel the heat from the engine coming through the floor of my vehicle

The vehicle was purchased from a dealership in June of 2020. Since owning the vehicle, the vehicle has had nothing but issues. Major issues including a stalling/puttering vibration when stopped at a light as well as just starting the car, it has an extremely loud start and rough. Have had this vehicle in and out of the dealership multiple times including one visit taking 3 weeks with a rental I was given. The issues are still all here, including an overheating with my warning systems not giving any sort of signs or lights, onstar thankfully told me to get the vehicle in immediately as I was in the red for overheating and the fan still continues to work after the car has been off for a few minutes. A smell of burning comes from the car everyday and overall doesn't feel safe. The other issue I believe is starting to occur is with the recall of the corroded rear toe links causing major clunking noises when hitting bumps and turning.

It was towed to a aaa repair facility where they discovered it was a broken toe link that had rotted. When it broke, it also bent a bar in the rear. The inspector said the same was happening on the opposite side and needed to be repaired.

The manufacturer informed her that the VIN was not included in the recall and referred her to NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 117,000.

The contact attempted to charge the battery however, the vehicle would not fully charge. The contact drove the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the failure. The contact was informed that the battery charging system needed to be replaced. The contact then drove the vehicle to tropical Chevrolet (8880 biscayne blvd, miami shores, fl 33138) who stated the failure was an engine failure and not a failure to the battery charging system. The battery was replaced however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not notified of failure. The failure mileage was 103,000.
