The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu. When the contact attempted to shift from park into drive while on an incline, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact had to constantly wait to ensure that the gear properly changed over. Bob bell Chevrolet (1 kane St, baltimore, md 21224, (443) 407-1778) inspected the vehicle, but was unable to replicate and diagnose the failure. The contact stated that the vehicle shut off intermittently and there was a progressing false start failure. The vehicle was taken to cox Chevrolet (2900 cortez rd w, bradenton, fl 34207, (941) 749-2699) to be diagnosed, but the cause of the failure was not determined. The vehicle was not being driven frequently due to the risk of the gear not shifting and the vehicle intermittently stalling. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The failure mileage was not available.

Malibu

  • 49,780 miles
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu. After fueling the vehicle, the contact started the engine and the gear shifter moved, but the gear indicator letters did not illuminate and the vehicle did not engage in gear. The vehicle had to be towed to the dealer (jimmy gray Chevrolet in South haven, Mississippi) where it was diagnosed that the tcm caused the gears to go into default mode, which caused the vehicle to lose acceleration. According to the dealer, the vehicle was repaired; however, when the accelerator pedal was depressed the vehicle jerked violently. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and case number: 83794508813 was filed. The VIN was invalid. The approximate failure mileage was 49,780.

Ince I have purchased this vehicle I have had issue after issue with trim, ABS, stability track, heating system, transmission, and wheel bearings. I have had the stability track fixed twice, transmission was leaking (covered under a recall). Wheel bearings in rear both sides have been replaced before 80000 miles. Wiring harness to wheels, the dealer ship had to splice ( I still cant see how wiring harness is not a covered component. For a manufacture based out of a state that has snow, and to provide a vehicle that has a stability sensor that gets dirty because of salt that will error is beyond my comprehension. Same for the default wheel bearings one winter in Michigan and they had to be replaced (also not a covered feature). Trim that blows off on the express way. I lost my window trim and the front black cover. Funny how the 2015 models have a screw in them but nothing for us poor 2014 owners that had an issue. I can purchase a new one at $60 (really its plastic). ABS comes on every time I have an issue with the stability track, which is every winter it gets dirty. Engine light on now so I cant auto start the car, more than likely that will be caused by the glamorous aux battery that was engineered for the lovey auto stop feature that I have no control over. Have appointment with dealership to be ripped off some more....appt showed a P011 code, second time in shop to have it fixed. Update: Months later, ABS on the driverside hub is now out. Yes you guessed it the P011 engine code is back. (third time). Fixed twice at the shop. When is someone going to make GM wake up and fix these issues. It just like my key issue with my 2004 Impala. Car stalls boggs down at 70 mph.

We have a 2014 Chevy Malibu 2.5L automatic transmission with 42310 miles on it and both the back hub (wheel bearing assembly's need to be replaced. It started making noises about 200 miles ago and it almost undrivable now. Had to have it towed do to feeling unsafe to drive. I've researched this problem and there are thousands of people who are experiencing this same problem and on top of the car payment I have to spend another 875 bucks to fix a problem I shouldn't be having. I've owned several cars and never had this issue unroll now and this was my first new car purchase and now my last with Chevy.

I have been having problems with my 14 Malibu every since I bought it certified pre-owned from the dealer. The car RPM will get stuck around 3000 if I'm cruising and press the brakes to decelerate which has caused me several time to have to pull to the side of off the road so that I don't hit anything. In order to make it stop I have to press brakes then press the gas to make the RPM act right. It has always had a bad jerk when I am driving and the car RPM is near or at a steady 2000 it would jerk until I speed up or slow down. I've taken the car to the shop several times and paid for diagnostic and diagnostic and still there was no good new all because they couldn't make the issue reoccur. My first experience with these issues was about a month after buying the car and has happened every since with my last occurrence being 08/13/2017. I am about ready to give up on Chevy and change makes because they seem to not want to help at all with the issues I'm having.

Transmission occasionally shifts erratically, hard at times, hesitates and bucks.never had any vehicle in my life do this, even cars with known bad transmissions. The sudden downshifts cause the vehicle to suddenly propel forward, especially when cruising to slow down or while brake is depressed, causing an unsafe change in vehicle speed that requires sudden need to brake or increase brake pressure to avoid striking vehicle in front. Transmission also at times has an "engine miss" type jolt while at cruising speed on flat pavement 30-45mph that has at one time repeated for 3 minutes straight.. majority of time transmission behaves normally and without incident and then suddenly goes nuts. Dealer did one powertrain software update that helped a little but with no codes or symptoms when they test-drive they can not find a problem.
