Came to a stop at a stop light auto stop came on. When let off the brake the auto start did not start. It tried to then completely shut off. Had to put car in park and turn the key to get it to start. I was in right lane trying to turn. The first time it happened it would not start with turning the key until the second time turning the key. This happened 5 times on my way home. Was almost rear ended. While it would not start at 2 stops cars thought I was going to move and I couldn't. auto stop and start was coming on at almost every stop this morning and my husband made a comment about how that was strange and it should not do it. Yesterday we just replaced the intake and exhaust seanoid.

For a few years after purchasing my vehicle I noticed sometimes it would stutter or throttle and surge while driving, but every time I took it to the dealer they were "unable to duplicate" the problem. Now the source of the problem I believe is error code P16D0, but there is no recall on this part that is mentioned in this code. General Motors should compensate vehicle purchasers who have run into this issue.

When I stop at a stop sign or red light, my car go into auto stop. When I press on the gas to go, the car shut off. After months of this I just understood what was really going on. No check engine light is on. This is hard to detect. Not even the dealership found this out. My auto sound guy explained this to me now I can explain this to the dealership. This should be a recall. This is dangerous. Why did Chevrolet put this option in cars.

On 7/5/20 the vehicle was in motion going down the highway and the high pressure fuel pump mounted on the engine broke lose, dropped into the engine and tore apart the engine. Was towed and fixed by closest GM dealership (deery brothers, West burlington, ia). There is a recall for a bad weld on the high pressure fuel pump for 2016-2018 Malibu's resulting in the exact issue I had on my 2014. The dealership said GM, Chevrolet and the dealership (which is a GM certified dealership where I bought the car certified pre-owned in 2018) said they all bared no responsibility for the issue. I paid $3,128 for the repair on 7/17/20. Two days after bringing my car home, there is an oil leak that was never there before. The dealership says this is a hole in the oil pan, and again is my responsibility to pay for in full to be fixed. I received a letter from Chevrolet on 7/16/20 saying there is a recall for my VIN # for an oil pressure valve. Incorrect oil pressure could have caused the high pressure fuel pump to explode causing the issue on 7/9/20. I do not believe that between the two recalls issued by Chevrolet for my car model I should be responsible for the full weight of the repairs on a car that was purchased certified pre-owned with a warranty two years prior, not to mention I've had all regular services done in a timely matter at the same dealership, that has under 90,000 miles and is only six years old. There is no reason for such extensive engine damage to such a new car with no previous issues.

The vehicle stops while in motion and in driving gear then wheel lock up. Making it unable to proceed to turn or drive. This does not matter if on highway or public street. Had to have car towed to cottmans and the mechanic stated that this issue is known and was covered by manufacturers under codes P0011 and P2646. Your assistance is needed with resolving this matter as my car is not driveable.

My car has been in need a GM part for almost eight months. The part # is 12633613. I have spoken with Chevy representatives over a dozen times. Despite discontinuing the engine that requires this part and the many complaints and people who can't operate their vehicles with this engine, Chevy/General Motors refuses to do a recall. The faulty part causes cars to jerk and shut off in the middle of the road. Before realizing the car wasn't fully operable, I was almost hit due to my inability to move forward. I have invested in Chevy and I have taken great care of my car. One small solenoid rocker arm should not keep me from enjoying the vehicle I have purchased. Aside from the thousands of dollars loss from the car itself, I spent hundreds and thousands of dollars on transportation alternatives. I need some remedy in this case as Chevy will not admit the part has been discontinued (although a representative did admit to this) despite their stated requirement of producing or making available comparable parts for at least 10 years. I need help and I hope Chevy is held accountable for these willful consumer violations.

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled with the service stabili-trac and reduced engine power warning messages displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where they diagnosed the vehicle with a defective vvt (variable valve timing) sensor. The mechanic recommended that both vvt (variable valve timing) sensors be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The contact then took the vehicle to second independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle with an engine misfire. The vehicle was not repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 107,000.

The engine variable timing oil control valve is malfunctioning as I have seen with thousands of others on the internet. GM is no longer making the part. I was driving my car on a highway and the check engine light came on. The car drove normally, but when I attempted to accelerate to merge onto another highway, the car seemingly stopped accelerating even with my foot on the gas. The car was stuck with no propulsion for a few seconds before I could accelerate again. The car now only slowly accelerates, or dies if I try to accelerate quickly. My fuel economy has been worse and according to reports the emissions of the car are worse. No action is being taken by GM to fix this issue.

Request #282669 complaint15 April, 2020 tracking # 11321107 the following complaint references my 2014 Chevy Malibu, ecotec 2.5L DOHC engine, VIN #[xxx]. purchased 9/15/2014 from george hahas Chevrolet in wildwood, fl. The vehicle is currently under extended warranty with ~23,300 miles on it. In October 2019, the vehicle began running rough at 20-25 miles per hour (odometer: ~21,000) and the vehicle engine light turned on. The engine gas mileage also decreased. I took it in for repair and was told that the rocker arm valve needed to be replaced (under warranty). In addition, the engine would need to be cleaned due to the excessive carbon build up due to the malfunctioning part. This clean-up was not under warranty, even though it was caused by a defective warranted part. I was told it was safe to drive the car until the engine light began to flash. At that point I was to pull to the side of the road and have the vehicle towed as it would no longer be drivable. This repair was attempted during the GM worker strike and the part was not available. After the strike, I was informed that the part was not available from GM or any aftermarket manufacturer. After waiting until the end of the year, I again contacted nahas Chevrolet and was told that the part was not available, and GM had no plans to produce it. Further, a warranted part was not available from any manufacturer. I was also informed that over 20 vehicles at this single dealership needed this same part. On March 2, 2020 I contacted GM consumer services (case # 9-5847264087). They informed me that they were informed that GM had no plans to make this part and knew of no aftermarket manufacturer who could supply a warranted part. They told me of three unwarranted manufacturers, but if the part ever caused further damage to the vehicle, the repairs would not be under warranty. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that while driving 20-25 mph, the vehicle hesitated with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to george nahas Chevrolet (4135 fl-44, wildwood, fl 34785, (352) 504-4538) who informed them that the repair for the rocker arm valve was covered under warranty, however, the parts for the repair were unavailable. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the parts were no longer being manufactured. The contact was also informed that a third-party part was not covered under warranty. The manufacturer opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 21,000.

When I come to a full stop at a red light or stop sign, when my car tries to use the auto stop feature the majority of the time it fails to start back on which causes it to fully turn off while the key is still turned and the car is in drive as if the car was still driving. I don't know what this problem is nor do I know what's causing it. I changed my spark plugs thinking that might of been the problem but it still continues to do the same malfunction. Please help.
