I bought my 2016 Malibu March 8, 2019 at 40,177 miles and the radio does not come on. As well as any safety chimes and the onstar feature does not come on. A week after getting my car I was driving on a city road when my car reduced speed drastically and a message popped up saying engine speed reduced and the engine light came on. After I cut the car off and back on it seems fine and eventually the engine light goes off. This has happened several times since then. I think something could be wrong with the transmission because my car does not pick up speed in first and second gear very well. I know that there were recalls for these vehicles with the same issues but my car doesn't show any recalls.

Takata recall. The 2016 Chevy Malibu 2016 stopped working while in motion, the engine shut off and steering wheel locked. Leaving me hanging and in a dangerous situation. The car completely turned off and I was unable to move the steering wheel. This happened while driving. No prior issues until this. I was completely in motion while it happened on my neighborhood street.

The accelerator pedal or sensor appears to be defective on these vehicles. I've had to replace mine twice within the past 16 months. Also, after researching several auto forums, this issue is affecting a large number of people. This defect causes the engine to reduce power, which then does not allow you to drive over 25mph. This can be extremely dangerous, especially if you are driving on an expressway when it occurs, like I was the first time the pedal went out. The 1st episode occurred 1/18, with the most recent event occurring today.

2016 Chevy Malibu check engine light has been turning on. It states reduce engine speed. This has happened to me when I am on the freeway and I am unable to accelerate. I can only go 30-40mpg. This has happened to me a couple times now. The latest was today. They had already replaced the throttle but it keeps happening.

When starting to progress from a stop, the Malibu will not accelerate for several seconds, and then when it does go it, surges forward. It occurs intermittently, but increases over time. This all occurs with no check engine light. We have taken it to the dealer several times were they have kept it for a combined total of well over a month, but claim that without a check engine light, there is nothing that they can do. It appears to happen predominately during the spring/summer months, and is less frequent during the much colder fall/winter months. We are being told that there is nothing that can be done from the manufacturer and the dealer. My wife is refusing to drive the car for fear that her or our children will be involved in an accident if the car will not proceed once in a busy intersection.

Vehicle stalled on highway while driving at speed on two different occasions despite servicing after the first incident. Both times, pop up alert says "shift to park" and then "engine has reduced power" after which the gas pedal no longer works. After pulling to the side of the road, there was a low battery alert.

The radio has no sound and is a common problem since the 2010 model. GM or Chevy is doing nothing to help customers fix the issue or train their service teams to fix the problem. I have had my 2016 for almost 9 months with 3 of those months in radio silence, no answer, and no compensation

For the past two years I have been experiencing a loud popping noise in the rear of my vehicle while operating it. I have taken it in for maintenance at my local Chevrolet dealer however they continue to tell me that they cannot duplicate the noise. The noise sounds like it may be coming from my back axles and doesn't seem to be affected by a minimum or maximum speed. I have ensured all brackets are secured inside of my trunk as I thought there might have been something loose however, that is not the case.

When car is put in park and turned off a notification of 'shift park' displays while dinging in car. Car is stationary during this time. Also when driving sometimes my car slows down and a notification of engine power down while dinging sound goes off. Car will then eventually power down and come to a stop. Car has done this on the highway and while driving around the city. Both has happened on several on several occasions. The shift to park incident happens daily and the engine power down situation happens occassionaly last time it happened was 3/22/2019

I own a 2016 Chevrolet Malibu with 34K miles. While the vehicle is in park I receive a mesage to shift to park while attempting to turn off the vehicle. The shifter needs to be shifted several times before the message goes away and I able to turn off the car. This has became a hazard because the vehicle won't fully turn off. I took my vehicle to my local Chevrolet dealer who diagnosed the issue as a defective transmission control. The warranty would not cover this defective and I had to pay out of pocket. Please have GM issue a recall.

'tamara recall' I was driving to work when my check engine light came on and a warning said 'engine power loss' and my car slowed down to 40mph, I was on the highway, speed limit of 65, I also got and email saying there was a problem with my engine and transmission system, I took it in to be looked at,2 codes piped up saying P1101 which is the throttle body and P2318 which is (app) gas pedal, my check engine light was turned off, it didn't come back on for a couple of days, then it turned back on, by the next morning it went off by itself! I believe this should be recall

When placing the car in the park position an error message appears after turning off the ignition 'shift to park'. you will have to turn the car back on and make sure that your foot is on the brake just in case it rolls. Then shift the car into drive or reverse in to shift it back to the park position. This has to be done several times before the vehicle will correctly identify that it is in the park position.

I was driving on the interstate at 70 mph when suddenly I received a dash notice of reduced power. I went from 70 to 20 in a matter of minutes and could not accelerate beyond 20 mph. I was able to exit and drive to my dealer ship steve raymond Chevrolet in smyrna ga. I was told it was the accelerator pedal senor unit that had failed. Now I see there are complaints all over the internet about this problem and GM is doing nothing about it, it is a $400 repair. It is a safety hazard as well. Make GM recall this part!! thanks

Water is getting in threw the 3rd brake mounted on the rear windshield. The light is fogged and water is leaking into the main cabin. The vehicle can be in motion or stationary. I feel it is unsafe because water could be sitting somewhere in the main cabin, and could eventually produce mold. Also, this is an electrical issue do to water shorting it out.

Shift to park issue. Vehicle is clearly in park but message on message board informs me "vehicle is not in park." Have to wiggle/mess with shifter in order to get the message to disappear. Otherwise vehicle will not turn off. Dealership informed me the shifter assembly needed to be replaced... common problem and needs to be fixed by Chevy.
