- Greenville, KY, USA
My 1995 Chevrolet Silverado windshield wiper control module was replaced by the dealer, but they failed to recognize it as part of the recall because my VIN is not listed as part of the recall group. If it exhibited the same symptoms as those that are included in that group, maybe the recall coverage was a little too thin and that my truck, as well as many others, should have been included. According to the recall notice, this campaign covers vehicles manufactured from August 1994 through May 1996. My truck has a manufacturering date of November 1994, which is well within the range. According to Chevrolet, only the VIN is used to determine whether a vehicle is recalled or not. If in fact this is the case, then NHTSA should not indicate the range of manufacturing dates, which is misleading and irrelevant. Please respond at your earliest.
