Tires started making an unusual noise when driving at highway speed. Due to recent recalls, I purchased new tires at a cost of $750. Please advise me if these tires are recalled or begin to fail others.( dot number: W273wmr129 tire size: P265/75R16 )

The tires would not plug, everytime they put a plug in it the tire would rip even more and chunks of the tire rip off while driving. The tires would end up having up to 6 plugs in a small pin hole due to the ripping..( dot number: Tire size: 265/75/16 )

While driving from home (mesa AZ) to milwaukee wi, I noticed a once per revolution thump and upon inspection I found a three inch crack at the outer circumference of the right front tire at the steel belt line. The crack was beginning to progress outward radially into the actual tread at the trailing edge of the crack. A local Firestone dealer (Dodge city tire center (316) 225-9090, exchanged the tire with a new for cost of balancing only. The claim number was 7797436 which the dealer promised me that they would send the tire to Firestone with that number attached so it could be traced. I believe that I saved Firestone a damage repair which should allow them to replace the rest of the tires in question on my vehicle. Local dealership in flint Michigan refused to do anything.( dot number: W273wmb169 tire size: P265-75R16 )

On March 21, 2000 while driving on interstate 84 near the dalles, Oregon I heard a loud pop sound followed by the rumbling of a flat tire. I immediately pulled over and discovered a flat tire. I then changed the completely flat tire. The next day I attempted to have the flat tire repaired at a commercial tire dealership in pasco, Washington. Thdy told me that the tire had not been punctured but instead that the wall had seperated from the tread and that the tire was un repairable. I left the tire with them and received a bill for $44 ffor the mounting of a used spare. More recently this summer I have notice a small piece of tread has detached from another one of my tires.( dot number: W275 wnb tire size: P265/75R16 )

Just reporting this as it seems premature for a tire to blow, especially sidewall with only 12,000 miles on. Cannot say for sure cause of failure but it did go completely flat. It was fine when I left and properely inflated, went out within a mile, truck started to handle rough so I pulled into a parking lot and tire was resting on rim completely flat with sidewall slit open.. since it is a wilderenss tire and they have some defects I thought I should mention this. Tire was repalced and disposed by pomps service who replaced it. No one could really say what caused it to go and I shrugged if off as bad luck and bought new one. Maybe it was defective to start. If this helps you take a bad tire off road, great. Don't need someone else hitting the ditch because of bad tire. If I had been running along on interstate at faster speed I would have been in ditch.. fortunately I was just starting out and close to home and slowed down and got off road when I felt vehicle handle sloppy..( dot number: Tire size: P265/75R16 )

After 235-15 recall announcement I decided to check the tires on my truck. One of them suffered from belt separation. I took it back to Firestone and they replaced it without any pro-rated charges. This problem may be bigger than just one tire size.( dot number: Tire size: 265R75-16 )

Have taken vehicle to dealer 4 times and each time they say nothing is wrong. Consistently called General Motors with no response. When driving vehicle must keep hands in 10-10:30 position to keep vehicle straight. Unable at this time to rotate tires thus causing more uneven wearing. One dealer told me this was just normal for cherolet. This is the second Z71 in our family and my son had worse problems than mine. At present rate I will be lucky to get 40,000 miles out of tires. Firestone inspected (visual only) and said wear was normal, however you can see splits and cuts in treads already.( dot number: W278wma458 tire size: P265/75R16 )

While driving my pickup on a 4 lane road the right front tire sidewall blew out. There was no apparent reason for the blowout. The tire had a hole in it the size of a grapefruit next to the tread. I took the tire to a chev dealer in phoenix Arizona and they gave me a discount on another tire but would not replace it free. I also went to a Firestone store owned by Firestone. They told me there was nothing they could do except sell me a new set of tires. They did tell me that a passenger tire for a pickup was not the idea tire. However, they told me to appeal to women drivers and get a smooth ride they put passenger tires like mine on Chevrolet trucks. Great huh? I just missed having an accident. Nobody after looking at the tire could tell me what caused it to explode.( dot number: Tire size: P265/75R16 )

A 10 inch piece of rubber blew out the side of tire on a trip to virgina. My wife was driving the truck and the tire blew at 70mph. She was able to get the truck stopped without a crash. A state trooper came and changed the tire. She took the tire to a Firestone dealer and they acted like the tire blowing out was no big deal. I think it is!!! being 600 miles from home all she could do was buy a new tire, but the dealer made sure that they kept the tire that blew out. I wonder why!!!!!( dot number: Tire size: 16in. )

Truck has been at dealer for repair total of 35 days before 1st anniv. Of ownership with over 20 separate problems, 5 of which are unresolved to this date. Vehicle is at dealer now for final repair before tn lemon law can be implemented. Worst and current problems are front end alignment (pulls to right), front brake squealing (pads replaced twice, rotors turned once), rear end vibration at any speed and clanking sound over bumps(all 4 tires, both rear leaf spring stacks, all 4 shocks replaced. One shock had broken shaft), engine backfires & knocks at startup (dealer reprogrammed comp. W/no results except to improve power, but accel. Pedal sticks now!), trans. Slips from dead stop for few seconds about once per week, 4WD transfer case slipped in low in deep snow (replaced fluid and did reprogram. Results??), ext. Cab pop out windows replaced due to poor fit (one exploded upon removal & dealer had to repaint side of truck. New ones are no better than originals!), rear seat missing rubber mounts(dealer replaced, but now seat makes popping noise due to rear cab wall flexing!), drive shaft makes loud clanking sound when shifting from park(dealer says this normal!). problems repaired: Rear brake line loose & in harms way(missing mount replaced), steering box loose and steering column rattled and loose around any turns(box tightened and column shaft replaced), drivers side window switch sticking in down posit.(switch replaced), all door weatherstrips and drip rail molding loose (replaced all), rear license plate light broken and replaced, door lock levers fell out of both doors(replaced both). Lemon, lemon, lemon!!!!!!!!!!( dot number: )

The vehicle has had a vibration from day one. The vehicle has been back to the dealer no less than 5 times in the last year. The tires have been replaced 3 times, 5 service bulletins have been performed. The vibration was reduced but not eliminated. The dealer does not know what else to do. I feel that the vehicle may become unsafe as time goes on because the vibration gets worse over time.( dot number: )

Vibration at various speeds. Safety concern about traction on wet pavement. Been to 3 dealers with no satisfaction. Lost all previous comments while trying to correct... I feel General Motors needs to be more responsive to the safety of their vehicles. GM customer assistance recognizes the problem but donna, rep, says I must wait until Goodyear mass produces more tires and they will recall. I drive 150 miles a day at 65 + mph. How long must I wait, until myself or someone else is killed or injured"?"( dot number: Tire size: P235X16 )
