2014 1500 ltz almost killed myself several times in the past week. Lights begin to flicker and that's the first warning sign to watch for. Steering assist shuts down and truck stalls if turn continues at low speed. Shut down has happened various times now putting through a drive thru. Vehicle also shuts off while driving at 75mph

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving 10 mph, the steering wheel was turned and the vehicle lost power. There were no warning indicators illuminated during the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer (stonebriar Chevrolet, 9950 tx-121, frisco, tx 75035), but the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 81,600.

My 2014 Silverado high country has a 8 cylinder 6.2 engine. After coming to a stop often there is steam coming from under the hood. The temperature gauge runs high and there is the smell of coolant leaking. I was told by the Chevy dealer this is caused by under spray? it happens on dry days, rainy days and laving a car wash bay. I've been advised it is a hairline crack in the radiator and GM knows they've had problems.

At slow speeds (mostly when turning) power steering will go out. I've had 3 instances where the truck completely shut off and just as many where it felt like it was about to shut off. Other symptoms have been while driving on highway, generally on a longer trip, warnings about stabiltrack needing service come on, my lane departure sensor will automatically switch from vibrate to audible beep, dimming my headlights or turning my turn signal on will cancel cruise control. I had the recall for software fix for power steering issues applied in September 2017 where previously I experienced none of these issues. All of these issues have been after the recall software fix was applied. The dealer says it's due to a film that builds up on the battery cable connection and causes it to not have a good connection with the battery. Apparently there is a bulletin out for this issue but it isn't a recall so dealers are charging around $700 to fix this. Having your truck turn off while driving is a clear safety issue and one that is much worse than the recall for having your power steering go out when turning at slow speeds.

While conducting low speed manuveurs radio and dash flashes off, then engine shuts off while vehicle is still in drive causing loss of steering assist and brake assistance. Dash and radio turn back on and warning messages stating stabilitrak disabled, steering assistance reduced, 2 keys programmed, open and close drivers window, and park assist disabled are displayed. Dealership thinks this could be due to corrosion in the power distribution box and recommended replacement.

My 2014 Chevrolet Silverado is at a GM dealership for the 4th time due to complete electrical and engine shutdown while driving. The issue started during low speed sharp turns but now is happening while driving the vehicle straight. Complete loss of use occurs and the vehicle will not come back on for 10 minutes after the occurrence. Power steering recall has not resolved it, ground wire tightening has not resolved and main battery cable replacement has not resolved. Dealership response is they don't know what the issue is caused from. I am very concerned this complete loss of power while driving will cause a severe collision and no recall or resolution has been created by GM.

2014 model year Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 vehicles, equipped with E85 flex fuel capability (fhs), the flexible fuel sensor may become inoperative during normal operation due to an electrical failure caused by road salt and other environmental contaminants. With a faulty flex fuel sensor, the service engine soon light will illuminate and remote start will be inoperative.

The service theft deterrent system warning came up on my dashboard and the vehicle wouldn't start. Removing the key and opening the door reset it. This happened Friday, March 30th. On Sunday April 1st, a similar event occurred, except this time, after getting the car started I drove about 1/4 mile and the vehicle lost all brake/steering support and then the engine cut off, leaving me to try bringing the vehicle to a stop myself (which thankfully I did). I took the vehicle to the dealership first thing on Monday, April 2nd, and they ran tests and found a service bulletin saying to replace the negative battery cable and the junction box. Being a service bulletin only though, it is not covered by the powertrain warranty and would cost $675. Being that this is a safety issue since it cuts all power while someone is driving, I feel this to be unfair.

While at a Chevy dealer to have a recall (17276 loss of power steering) done on my truck I asked them to check on a grinding/whining noise from the area of the brake booster pump on the engine. They said in fact it was the brake vacuum booster pump, that it should be fixed or I could experience a sudden loss of braking power. They further explained it would have been covered under warranty but that expired a year ago and would now cost me some $440. Am wondering if other folks have complained about this. I've read of it happening to others on certain internet blog sites. To my way of thinking the brakes (and I suppose loss of ABS/traction control) are at least as important as the steering that was enough of a problem to issue a recall. Btw the truck had 27,971 miles on it when the problem started, hardly 'warn out'.

Vehicle has a defective radiator causing a coolant leak, and engine oil to enter the cooling system. General Motors as issued a special coverage #15829 applying to this year and model Silverado, but only certain VIN's apply for warranty coverage for this issue. Coverage should include all VIN numbers equipped with defective radiators. Dealer now want's $1,300 to repair what should be covered under a known defect addressed only partially by special coverage.

I was driving around the back of a shopping plaza when my engine started to make a stalling sound followed by my belts squealing. My gauges looked fine and then I looked at my side mirror to see smoke trailing my vehicle. I stop and open my hood to see the entire engine compartment filled with smoke. I couldn't see any damage at that point to pin point the problem. My vehicle was towed to a Chevy dealership and the mechanic told me my a.C. compressor seized up due to lack of oil in the compressor and my engine belt was destroyed (which was the cause of the smoke). I did notice every time I turned the fan on in my vehicle the a.C. light would always come on by itself engaging the compressor for the a.C. system. This vehicle is 3 years old with 39450 miles on it and this incident should not have happened. I had to pay the dealership almost $1000 for the repair.

I have a 2014 Silverado with 60K miles. On Sunday, I was pulling into the garage after a short errand and I lost most of the braking power. I was able to stop the truck by pressing the brake pedal hard. I immediately drove backwards and it did the same thing. I restarted the vehicle the issue went away, mind you during all of this the ABS light never came on either. Searching online I found a bulletin in some rare situations, a customer may comment on a hard brake pedal or that increased effort is needed to depress the brake pedal. While performing normal diagnostics, fluid may be found in the brake booster and/or the booster vacuum line. If engine oil is found, it is important the following parts are replaced. If not, the condition will return. 1. vacuum pump 2. vacuum line between the booster and the pump 3. brake booster 4. master cylinder after finding this and reading all the accounts I feel like GM needs to make this a special coverage. This is 100% safety concern

I've had to get a new paint job because clear coat was coming off. Egnition switch locked up. Check engine light has come on multiple times I take it to the dealership and they say nothing is wrong with it. But tell me I can't let it get below a half tank of gas. Back axles lock up. And seat belts lock when going about 50 miles per hour. And the air condenser cought on fire. Now when I take it to the dealership they say they can not diagnose the problem. I have spent around $6000 in repairs

The relay in the engine shut the power down to the engine. I am reporting this because it only happens in extremely cold weather. In my case it happened in -32 degree windchill, which stranded me for an hour. In talking with the dealership and doing research online it seems as this is an ongoing problem.the problem happened after I had stopped and started after many tries. The reason I am reporting this is because I would hate to see someone else have a problem in extreme cold weather and it turn into a tragedy for a family. Noticed coolant steam weeping out of the front grill. Origin of leak is radiator. There is a special coverage from GM for this issue, 15829. I was told by my dealer as well as GM that my VIN is not eligible to receive the special coverage. My truck year/make/model is clearly described in the special coverage bulletin as a viable candidate for this issue.
