The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle shuddered without warning. The contact stated that the following day the vehicle failed to shift gears. The vehicle was towed dan tobin Chevrolet, Inc. (2589 billingsley rd, columbus, oh 43235) where it was diagnosed that there was metal shards from the torque converter and the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered to pay a nominal part of the repair cost. The approximate failure mileage was 136,000. The VIN was not provided.

When I purchased this vehicle I went to the dealership to complain about the transmission. When applying the gas, the car hesitated. I was told the car was "learning" and this was part of the computer system. Now that the warranty is off, it now needs a new transmission.

All of these vehicles are experiencing way too many issues before they should (less than 150K miles). Often, when making low speed turns the entire engine and electrical system shuts off. There is no power steering when this happens and it's difficult and dangerous to try to coast to a safe spot to try to restart the vehicle. Generally, it starts back up again within a few minutes. In the three years that we've owned the vehicle, it has been to two different Chevy dealerships more than once and both dealerships say there's no problem. It's frustrating that it seems to be a common issue yet there's no answer to the problem and no recall.

This is a follow up from complaint #11228752 regarding the ac issues on Chevy &GMC pickups from 2014 thru 2017 year models. From research I did 98% of the failures was the condenser which also includes the transmission oil cooler. My condenser failed on the drivers side first 3 tubes below the transmission oil cooler as did my friends 2016 Sierra and another friend's 2016 Texas edition Sierra. Same failure same location and between 60 & 75K. Repaired mine myself & my warranty paid me back for new condenser ($219) but not the freon or my labor. There's most definitely an issue on this part and saw no visible difference in the old/ new piece other than a 6'X 6' square of aluminum type flex pad in the upper left corner on driver's side. Similar to the 2018 models not affected by this problem.

Tampa fl, told me drive shaft is defective, the material is too thin and it must be replaced, with a new one of better quality ( thicker metal) cost is 600. To 800. Usd. This truck has only 32,000. Miles seems to have started around 25,000 miles.

The contact tried to call the manufacturer but could not get through a live person. The contact researched on line and found there were issues with debris in the transmission of Chevrolet trucks. The failure mileage was 46,300.

Our 2015 Silverado 1500 has stuttering/ hesitation when accelerating, when turning on to a street you can not get up to speed quick enough it acts like there is something hold it back. We have replaced the spark plug and wire and all the coil packs. The voltage meter on the truck keep fluctuating so we replaced the alternator and the battery and that did nothing and kept fluctuating so we got another alternator and another and another and another.. so 5 alternators later and still no fix. But the hard shifting is the main concern. Because when you are driving trying to get into another lane the truck with just start hesitating and jerking until it launches into gear. 1st gear going into 2nd gear the truck will shift extremely hard and 2nd going into 3rd feels like you are galloping until it finally engages. The computer has been replaced and reprogrammed with all updates by and ase certified mechanic. Also did a transmission fluid flush and changed. No service light. Just baffled with all these complaints about transmission why nothing is down. It is a serious safety issue.

Rpms were rising above 6,000 without any power. Randomly while on highway, truck only had 112,000 miles on it and had to have a new transmission put in. And has had many other issues such as the lifters closing while on the highway and brake issues. The worst model truck ever made.

Our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 had transmission issues at 38,000 miles and the vehicle had only 84 miles when it was purchased. The transmission would not shift out of first gear and the check engine light was on. I could only drive about 70 mph on the interstate and it felt like I was pushing the engine. This was while returning the truck to the dealership where we purchased it. We are disappointed with the performance of a vehicle we paid good money on. The vehicle is currently at the dealership and is line with 15 other vehicles with transmission problems. This is not what I thought Chevrolet GM was about with the production of their vehicles.

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving approximately 25-35 mph with the transmission in third gear, the vehicle decelerated independently. The contact stated that the vehicle shifted into neutral independently while the rpms revved to 4,000. The contact stated that the vehicle shifted independently back in gear and he was able to briefly drive the vehicle before the failure recurred. Lindsay Chevrolet (located at 15605 jefferson davis highway, woodbridge, va 22191, 703-832-4837) was called and informed of the failure. The contact was also informed by the dealer that the failure was possibly due to the failure listed in NHTSA campaign number: 14V374000 (power train); however, the vehicle had already received the one time free repair. The contact was referred to NHTSA for assistance. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 1150,000.

Truck with just under 34,000 miles would not disengage from four wheel drive. The vehicle was turned off with the transfer case selector in automatic four wheel drive. After it was turned off and before it was restarted, the transfer case went into full time four wheel drive, the truck had an audible noise from transfer case when it was in motion and the transfer case would not change when moving the four wheel drive selector switch. Condition caused drive-ability problems. The correction was to reprogram and set-up the transfer case module which was not covered by Chevrolet even after the servicing dealer asked them for assistance. Since there was an available fix offered by GM with a software update, software programs do not change without intervention and the condition results in drive-ability concerns, I believe these vehicles should be recalled to pro-actively prevent the issue experienced and not wait until the consumer has an issue and then have the customer pay for the repair.

The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.

When in motion harsh shifting between gears, sometimes so violent it feels like another car hit me. When accelerating the transmission seems to search for gears, and is sluggish for a high horsepower vehicle. Concerning when trying to accelerate in traffic, transmission hesitates and does not immediately apply power. Had transmission serviced 5 months ago due to shudder and shake between 20-35mph. Transmission fluid flush helped for a few months, but shudder is returning as well.

Bad lifter causes engine failure at 100,006 miles. Engine had to be replaced. Transmission has extremely hard shifts from park to reverse, and slips between 5th and 6th. Doesn't throw any codes so dealer says it's fine.but it's obviously ruining itself. Reading all these transmissions complaints I can't believe it's not recalled

Transmission experiences a shudder that cycles every 3 seconds. The torque converter had been replaced but after 45000 miles it has returned. Dealer has recommended a new type of transmission fluid replacement. Also had a afm lifter that collapsed and was replaced.

Transmission always shifted hard and finally stopped shifting at all while in motion (backing out of our driveway). Despite taking it a Chevy dealership for 3 years for maintenance, we were never told their was a known issue. When the transmission failed, we took it back to the Chevy dealership and only when we took it to a transmission shop to get a second opinion were we told this was a known factory defect on several GM models. We ended up having to have the transmission rebuilt along with the rear end to the tune of over $5,000. Lemon law does not hold up because we did not have any work done under the warranty (which only covered the first year).
