This is a follow up from complaint #11228752 regarding the ac issues on Chevy &GMC pickups from 2014 thru 2017 year models. From research I did 98% of the failures was the condenser which also includes the transmission oil cooler. My condenser failed on the drivers side first 3 tubes below the transmission oil cooler as did my friends 2016 Sierra and another friend's 2016 Texas edition Sierra. Same failure same location and between 60 & 75K. Repaired mine myself & my warranty paid me back for new condenser ($219) but not the freon or my labor. There's most definitely an issue on this part and saw no visible difference in the old/ new piece other than a 6'X 6' square of aluminum type flex pad in the upper left corner on driver's side. Similar to the 2018 models not affected by this problem.

Catalytic converter failed with less than 80,000 miles. The truck was taken to dealership, denooyer Chevrolet, from which it had been bought new and by which it had always been serviced to remedy the check engine light prior to 80,000 miles with authorization to perform any diagnostic and remediation covered under warranty. Dealer did not make repair and advised it would cost me hundreds of dollars to even find out what was wrong. I now have taken the truck to a separate shop for diagnosis and was told a catalytic converter has gone bad. However, I am now slightly at 89,000 miles. Dealer is saying warranty on catalytic converts expired at 80,000 miles. Front brake rotors warped within the first year of ownership. A/C cooling coil cracked under 80,000 miles as well due to a faulty part, and apparently that warranty expired at 30,000 miles.

Afm activated, lifter failure occurred. Engine cel blinks erratic engine behavior sudden loss of power and braking. Transmission starts shifting in and out of gears high low, severe bucking, high engine revving, cylinder misfire. Hard to stop very slow acceleration due to transmission in wrong gear and loss of power due to collapsed lifter. This is a major problem that GM is well aware of my 2007 Monte Carlo had same issue 8 years later the problem still exists. The vehicle is still under warranty and im sure they will cover the lifter all lifters should be replaced. And afm should be disabled.

The cabin of the vehicle fills with carbon monoxide. This is known because a 4 gas monitor in the vehicle read carbon monoxide levels in excess of 400 ppm. The source of the leak after being taken to the dealership was found to be a broken bolt in the exhaust manifold. The parts only estimate was $1,700 with approximately 9 labor hours. Online research found numerous complaints. Failure to correct the condition may lead to drivers fainting while driving and cause brain injury to a child or infant. A leak in the exhaust before reaching the catalytic converters also results in possibly excessive untreated emissions. The exhaust leak may or may not pose a fire hazard.

Bad lifter causes engine failure at 100,006 miles. Engine had to be replaced. Transmission has extremely hard shifts from park to reverse, and slips between 5th and 6th. Doesn't throw any codes so dealer says it's fine.but it's obviously ruining itself. Reading all these transmissions complaints I can't believe it's not recalled

My truck engine started shaking really bad out of nowhere as I was driving on the freeway I immediately exit the freeway because the truck felt like it was force to drive and the shaking never went away. The light for the engine on the dash board starting turning on and off as I drove the truck slowy out of the freeway. The engine light had never turn on before this incident. I took my truck immediately to Firestone, that's where I do all my truck services. They run some test to see what could be the problem and determine what they needed to do to fix it. After inspecting my truck they found that my engine had a issues an it need it to be either fix or replace. They ask to to take it to the dealership where I purchase my new truck at the time that I bought it and to explain to them that the engine was bad and they need it to check the problem because their is a tbs in this particular engine and it could be one of the defective engines that were made dtc P050D and P0300 are the codes. Reference #pip5498K. But if though I had that information to the. Dealership service technician he ignored that an told me that I order for them to look at my truck for that problem that I needed to pay for the services that was $2500. I explain to him that it could be a defective engine from them but he did not care about that because I was over my warranty coverage so in order for them to inspect it I had to pay. And didn't want to help me.
