Loss of power steering mostly at low speed. Truck loses power or shuts off completely. Also several times I have had no power upon start then after sitting for a few minutes it will be ok. Loss of power while driving when I switched to bright lights. Also drivers info center goes black

Loss of power steering while driving, safety hazard! contacted GM and was told no recall on my specific VIN # even though there is a recall on same year make & model vehicle. Was told by GM to take vehicle to dealership & GM would try & assist in getting vehicle repaired. With it being a safety issue and same make & model as vehicle that has recall in place for the same part, I feel GM should repair the vehicles power steering motor at no cost to me.

The steering suddenly and without warning jerks back and forth violently when you are trying to turn. I've seen this issue reported on 2014's also. We were stopped when it first happened. The steering jerked as I tried to move forward and something about the "stabilitrak" briefly flashed on the dash. The traction control light came on. We turned the traction control off, but it turned itself back on and the issue happened again trying to back into my driveway.

My 2015 Chevrolet Silverado crewcab ld has a very dangerous steering issue. The problem is the steering system fully gives out making it impossible to turn the wheel and sometimes the wheels jerks back approximately 1/4 turn. GM has recalled trucks for this issue on all Silverado models 2014/15 except the 2015 crew cab. This is a very dangerous issue. The truck only has 36,251 miles and is taken care of to the fullest per manufacturers guidelines. This is a very dangerous issue and it seems that GM has admitted it and recalled many vehicles outside the trucks as well for the same problem, hopefully they will do the right thing and make a recall for all affected models before someone gets seriously hurt.

2015 Chevrolet Silverado 5.3L 4X4 (48,000 miles). While driving last night I was U-turning at a major intersection when the truck lost all power, then flashed "stabilitrak" on the dash, and jerked the steering wheel out of my hand. Should there have been someone coming the other direction there surly would have a major head on collision. I pulled into a parking lot after re-firing the truck and tried some low speed sharp turns and sure enough the same issue. Flickering power, "stabilitrak" flashing on dash, and steering wheel jerked out of my hand. When I say steering jerked its not as if I just lost power steering, the wheel will actually jerk as if its trying to get back to center on its own. I left the truck over night and went back this morning to have someone follow me home. This is a major safety issue. There is no issued recall for my VIN. I've found hundreds of stories and videos on the internet very similar to mine for this same issue. There are some recalls for other model years that sound like they are aimed at the problem but not for my model/year and everyone I've found that has had the recalls for steering and voltage issues says that the problem continues. Its terrifying thinking that im driving a 6,000lbs mass that can shut off and steer itself out of no where. Ridiculous that this has not been resolved or even acknowledged by GM!

The contact owns a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving approximately 15-20 mph, the service power steering warning indicator illuminated and the power steering failed. The contact stated that it became difficult to maneuver the vehicle. An unknown dealer was contacted; however, they would not have been able to service the vehicle for a week. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the power control module for the electronic power steering needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14V719000 (steering). The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and provided case number: 8-3776324755. The approximate failure mileage was 38,116.

I bought my truck brand new from Chevrolet. No accidents, well maintained truck. I have gone thru 2 rack and pinions and my truck just hit 32K miles. 1st time I noticed popping noises coming when I turned the steering wheel. Before I had a chance to take it to the service department the power steering completely went out. Just a couple days ago I noticed the popping noise again. I took it to the dealer today before my power steering would fail. Again the diagnosed it as the rack and pinion and is back in the shop.

The steering wheel has a popping noise every time I turn it. The 2nd thing is, I have lost power steering 8-10 times while turning into a parking spot. One time it stalled the engine and lost all power for 30-40 minutes and I had to unhook the battery cables to reset so it would crank. Makes me feel real safe while going around a curve at 60 mph wondering if I'm going to lose power again.

When taking a long, rather sharp turn on the highway, the vehicle was resisting against the turn making it difficult to maneuver the vehicle. At the same time, the brakes began to initiate when the pedal was stepped, but immediately became very hard and could barely slow or stop the vehicle. Original complaint # 11011865, so I brought my 2015 Silverado back to michaels Chevrolet in fresno after they replaced my rack and pinion. The second rack had same issue after being on truck for three weeks. This time dealership refused to replace the rack. I noticed GM recalled over 800,000 2014 Silverado recently. I have an early model 2015 Silverado which I learned has the same rack and pinion as the 2014's. I asked the dealer if the recall could be effecting my truck as well. I was told they were unsure and it was possible, however they still refused to replace the rack under warranty. They told me it was as a result of my truck having a leveling kit. So now I can drive the vehicle due to it being unsafe. Last thing I want is to be driving down the road and lose all steering. What can I do and is there any laws that protect me from GM warranty problems"?"

When turning steering wheel I hear a clunking/grinding noise. On 7/07/2017 I brought it in to michaels Chevrolet located in fresno, ca regarding the issue. I was told the issue was a result of a bad rack and pinion. They replaced the rack under warranty. Now three weeks later I'm having the exact same problem so obviously this new one is bad as well. The clunking/grinding noise is more pronounced when stationary and turning wheel right and left and while backing. You don't really hear it much while driving.

I'm having issues with my Chevy Silverado dying out while driving when I'm making turns that will cause the truck to have error messages popping up with regards to the stable trac sensor, the airbag light coming on, the radio going in and out, and the ac going out/coming back on. While backing up the truck is locking up on me, and the steering wheel is jerking out of my hands, which will dye out as well. When I go to start it back up the truck then gives me an error message of roll down the drivers side window that you have to do in order to clear it out. I've currently had this at the Chevy dealership the past 6 months without them being able to fix this numerous times.

Very low speed impact caused total steering loss. Turning right onto a street, impacting a stationary vehicle located the passenger side. Speed of impact was very low, but caused steering loss. Repair estimate shows failure of the gear assy, steering. I have a police report and insurance estimate from Chevy dealership, and will provide them upon request, but do not wish to make them public.
