2000 Chevrolet 2500 pick up truck - third occurrence of significantly reduced braking ability due to corrosion of brake lines. Prior occurrences of brake line corrosion leading to significantly reduced braking ability occurred in Oct 2007 and Aug, 2009 (same problem - different brake line sections).

He contacted the dealer about the failure and the dealer stated that it is suppose to work that way. The driver also stated that the fwd indicator malfunctioned. When he spoke with the dealer they said it needed to be replaced. The failure mileage was 114,000. The current mileage was 114,100.

Purchased a used 200 Chevrolet Silverado K2500 4WD. The anti lock brakes activate at 7mph while stopping. It occurs at every stop. The dealer replaced the speed sensors per the recall which did not solve the problem. The dealer tested the vehicle after the fix and found it still failing. Now GM won't do anything more and my truck still has faulty anti lock brakes.

Driving Silverado, depressed brake and brakes failed. I was traveling slowly so luckily there I didn't strike anyone. I immediately stopped, and noticed that there was fluid dripping from under the driver side passenger compartment. I took the Silverado immediately to the GM dealer and was told my brake lines where rusted, and one was rusted through. I have never owned a vehicle that had rusted lines. This is a failure due to cost cutting measures by GM. Using a bare steel tube that is susceptible to rusting is total irresponsible. Such an important part should not be designed to fail.

We are experiencing unwanted ABS activation at low speeds giving us no braking when activated. This vehicle has been serviced on !0/28/05 for ABS recall #05068 at 75,484 miles this problem is re occurring for the last 18months. The vehicle now has 115,000 miles. I, ve noticed a new recall out #05V379000 for this issue. This braking issue was once in a while now to be every day and almost every complete stop. Could the manufacturer be required to fix this issue again at no cost to us? it does appear to us that GM fixed the issue the first time but not the problem, that caused the issue.

The rotors, caliper, and 4 wheel drive brake discs were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the front and rear pads were replaced. It was also discovered that the front rotors were warped and the oxygen sensor was replaced. The contact has been in five crashes due to the brake failure. While depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle would not stop. The manufacturer offered $1,000 toward the purchase of a new vehicle. The failure mileage was 26,000 and current mileage was 61,000.

The current mileage is 58,000 and failure mileage was 54,000.
