The complete fuel system rotted out from under the vehicle almost causing a fire. The fuel tank, fuel pump module, lock ring, fuel lines all had to be replaced and had to do a fuel spill clean up. Luckily, I caught the fuel spill before the Cadillac converter warmed up. My mechanic advised me to file a complaint with you because this should have never happened and feels GM should issue a recall due to a safety reasons.

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that the fuel gauge failed. The fuel tank was full however the fuel gauge read half tank and the following day fuel gauge read empty. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to have a diagnostic performed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 96,300.

After fueling their is a strong smell of gas upon start up that lingers for about 5 minutes, also false codes pop up in dash display.

This is the second incident. Was driving at 45 mph and made a turn. The Tahoe loss power and stalled. The computer read reduced engine power and stability trak off. This is bothersome being that this can happen anywhere at anytime. Afraid of possible accident or worse.
