The dashboard has two cracks one over the steering wheel and one over the passenger side air bag. I also have the light on and off saying (air bag service required) and the cruise control N has not been working neither for like 2 years all. It is a safety issue and concern when I travel with my family and this issue should be addressed immediately. I bought this 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe brand new an this is the 2nd crack on my dash now it has a large crack next to the passenger airbag. I am afraid of this airbag being punctured in case of an accident. And a piece of the dash breaking off and stabbing the passenger. GM needs to be held accountable for this faulty dash materials that were used! this is a safety concern that needs to be repaired asap! these cracks happened when my wife was driving normally, this should not happen again.

My impeccably maintained SUV has multiple cracks in the dash that I believe if the air bags deploy will cash serious bodily harm. I am continually finding pieces on the dash on my floorboard near the gas pedals on the drivers side and far forward on the passenger side. And recently with the cracks getting worse I have noticed the broken pieces are starting to flap around with the forced air coming through the vents.

2007 Chevy Tahoe, dash has cracked in two places. One crack is in the left corner at the airbag (complete crack top to bottom). The second is at the left side over the steering wheel (within 1 inch being completely cracked from top to bottom). This is a defect in the materials not any incident that caused this to crack. There are hundreds of complaints and all dash cracks are basically in the same area. Very much a safety hazard especially if a crash occurred. Possibly could cause shattering of the dash pieces and cause injuries or possibly interfere with airbag deployment.

Passenger side airbag explosively inflated while driving approximately 30 miles per hour on an inner city street. No jarring or collision occurred directly prior to this incident. This appears unprovoked and poses a major safety risk to consumer. We have young children who could have been seriously injured in this incident. Thankfully they were not in the vehicle at the time and it was the passenger side which exploded and not the driver side. Any of theses scenarios would have (and did) easily endanger the driver and other individuals on or near the road when incident occurred. I immediately turned into a Chevrolet dealership and am currently awaiting word on what exactly caused the airbag inflation.

Dashboard is cracked in three locations. 1st and 2nd: Over passenger side airbag from upper corners of the airbag to the air-vent panel 3rd: Approximately 8 inches along the top of the driver instrument panel to the air-vent panel. Additional separation between panels is created during temperature changes or running the heater in cold weather. Have had two dealerships tell me it is a normal, known, and reoccurring problem with the body-style but offered to replace it for over $1,000.

At 56000 I began to notice sally cracks to the passenger side dash on the corner of the housing for the passenger airbag. I took it to the dealership but this was not a covered item in my warranty. Shortly after, the cracks have extended and are approximately 2-3 inches in length. Also a crack above the instrument cluster began and has traveled to the front of the dash. The concern and immediate danger is that if the air bags were to deploy, the excerpted force would either send shrapnel from the dashboard in to the personnel in the vehicle causing a greater risk of serious traumatic injury or possibly death. Additionally it is possible that the sharp edges created by the cracks could potentially pierce the airbag preventing it from fully deploying as intended and thus rendering it in affective and not adhering to safety standards, again resulting in possible loss of life or sever traumatic injury.

I called two different Chevrolet dealerships on two separate occasions, neither of which willing to correct or report to GM. Entire repair would be at owner expense. The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph, the contact blacked out and crashed into the guardrail. The air bags failed to deploy. The contact sustained head injuries that required medical attention. A police report was filed. On another occasions, while making a left turn at 15 mph, the contact crashed into another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. A police report was filed and there were no injuries reported. The contact also stated that there were two large cracks in the dashboard and a third crack developed as a result of the first crash. The vehicle was taken to a dealer however, the diagnosis was unknown. The vehicle was repaired after both failures. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 120,000.

The plastic dashbord has cracks on the edge of the airbag unit and over the top of the speedometer unit. There is also major cracks on 30 to 40 percent of the flat portion of the dash.these cracks are sharp and severe. The cracking started and has eventually gotten worse over time to the point of a safety concern. If the airbag is deployed there is great risk that the dash board may come apart and kill or injure the passenger and others in the vehicle. I have read hundreds of complaints on the internet in regards to this safety issue. Please investigate to find out if a repair or recall is needed. As an engineer I believe GM should make the repair.
