Transmission all of a sudden starting not going into gear and there was a whining sound. The reverse went out and it skips from 1st gear to 3rd. It will cost about 1300 to repair but I have not done it yet, as I cannot afford it. This seems to be a major issue for many Trailblazers due to a defective sun shell part and really should be recalled.

Vehicle switches into 4 wheel drive at random on freeway or anywhere else it decides. Unknown times it has been in shop 2xs and all components replaced 1 year ago now it started again. Hiatt Pontiac Chevy dealer replaced the control mod and the switch on dash. Under warranty now warranty is up and dealership out of business.

The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer. While driving less than 55 mph, the vehicle switched into four wheel drive and the indicator light illuminated. The dealer stated that the in-cover motor sensor needed to be replaced. The repairs were completed; however, the failure persisted. The dealer stated that the in-cover motor sensor needed to be replaced a second time as well as the control module. The failure mileage was 112,000 and current mileage was 120,000.

I have a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer 4WD. The clutch fan is bad. From what the auto parts service center advised me, all clutch fans on the 2002 Trailblazers should be recalled. The vehicle runs high RPM's when first starting. This is a safety hazards that the gov. Should address with Chevy. Don't wait until someone loses a life, then act on this complaint. You would think after the Firestone tire incident you people would work on the side of the consumer, after all, we do pay for your Agency to operate. Why is it the consumer always has to pay for big business when they are the ones who are a fault. When building any product, if it fails. Then the gov. Should enforce a recall. Whether it be one or 20 complaints. The consumer has the right to be protected when purchasing any product. When a complaint is made. The you the gov. Agency should act and make a recall. Before someone gets hurt. It" that simple.

I bought the 2002 Trailblazer on February 2008 drove it for about a month and a half total the rest of the time it has been back to the dealership for repairs. Everything including the motor needed to be replaced, the transmission needs to be replaced just accelerated onto the gas heard a loud crack and the truck shook like an earthquake had hit, lost acceleration would not go any faster than 30-35 miles an hour and car would not disengage from neutral at first and the would not go into reverse., brakes have made a pulsation feeling and they were done days before I bought the vehicle and replaced again including rotors a month after I bought the vehicle, there have been too many crackling and metallic tinging noises that don't go away, the 4 wheel drive engages and disengages on it's own when driving 65-70 miles an hour. The steering wheel had a constant rubbing noise and dealer told me all of my complaints were nothing detrimental and basically blew me off. The truck jerks alot on it's own doesn't matter if I am in motion or if I put it into gear or park it jerks. I don't feel safe in this vehicle, it seems to be possessed. I am scared to death to drive it, so I have stopped driving it. I don't know what to do. My first car was a Chevy and now this one, I will never own another Chevy product. I don't know what to do, I don't want this. I fear my own and everyone else's life!!

Problems with air bag dash light, fast engine idle, air conditioner, rear hatch inner strap broke, etc... the airbag light was intermittent. The sir module was replaced, and there was poor terminal connection at the sir wiring harness, and was traced/repaired on the left side impact connector and the codes were cleared. The engine idled fast(especially at start up, and the fuel mileage was 13 mpg. The results of the evaluation and repairs were: Passenger impact connector was loose(repositioned/connected), idle within specifics, the emblem had fallen off, the rear hatch inner strap had broken, the transmission seemed to take long to shift into gear(happened sometimes when cold), and the PCM needed to be reprogrammed(J6355 power train controller PCM). There was a thumping sound in the rear differential when shifted, the A/C would blow out cold air when the A/C indicator was off, hot air would come out of the defroster area on the dash when the indicator was set for heater on the floor, the engine made a tapping sound, the lift gate weather strip had come apart, and the battery kept losing charge(3 occurrences).
