: the contact stated while traveling 35 mph with prior braking, the vehicle veered off the road and slid into a ditch. There was front end damage; the frame rail and hood bent. The airbags did not deploy when this occurred. The contact was not in the vehicle and the driver was unaware of what caused the vehicle to veer off the road. The driver sustained head trauma and the seat belt was not worn. There was a police report taken at the scene. The vehicle was towed to an independent repair shop, but has not been inspected by a mechanic. Updated 06/16/06.

On Friday, October 7, 2005, our client was driving her 2002 Chevrolet trail Blazer in springfield, Illinois. Soon after turning a corner from ninth street West onto cook street at approximately fifteen miles per hour, all airbags in the entire vehicle discharged at one time. Our client was pummeled about. The vehicle had not been struck or in an accident at said time. Our client had merely just completed turning the corner. A service air bag warning had turned on in the vehicle the previous day, and she had already planned to have the vehicle taken in at the local Chevrolet dealership in springfield, Illinois. General Motors was contacted but denied any responsibility since the vehicle was just past the warranty date. Eventually, the local dealership replaced all of the air bags but still was unable to confirm what was the actual cause of same.

While driving 60 mph in a rain storm on Ohio turnpike in newton falls, consumer felt like vehicle was coming off the ground. Steering got loose and then it got hard to turn. He swerved toward a semi-truck, then over corrected and hit a concrete barrier wall. He rolled once completely and ended up on the driver's side, facing the traffic. The air bags didn't deploy. Vehicle was towed, and insurance company told him to get in contact with GM to find out why the air bags didn't deploy.

Consumer was ejected from the vehicle after it over turned twice as a result of defective steering. While driving the consumer noticed that the vehicle was going off the road to the right. The consumer overcorrected the steering wheel and the car subsequently went too far over to the left with the right side front and rear wheels in the air. The consumer then corrected to the right and the left side tires came off the road. The vehicle then went into a skid off the right side of the road and struck an embankment. The vehicle struck an embankment and the consumer's chest hit the steering wheel. The impact bent the steering wheel and rendered the consumer unconscious. The vehicle the overturned 1-2 times and the consumer was ejected from the vehicle. The consumer sustained rib fractures, joint separation, upper and lower back injuries.

While attempting to change from the outside (slow) lane on interstate 35 a speeding car attempted to pass me. I swerved back into my lane, note; this was not a severe steering maneuver. The 2002 Trailblazer immediately rocked and went into a roll. The vehicle was totaled by the insurance carrier. 1. none of the air bags deployed, front nor side. 2. the locked drivers side door opened up on impact. 3. the SUV roll occurred with out severe over steering.

Trailblazer 6-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 19,532 miles
While driving 40 mph, the engine light illuminated, then the vehicle stalled. This caused the consumer to lose control of the vehicle, hitting a wall. The consumer had the vehicle towed. The dealership tried to repair the vehicle 7 times, but did not resolve the problem. The air bag also failed to deploy during the accident. The PCM failed due to a circuit inside, fluid leaked from the power steering hose, the engine revved high and was loud when the vehicle was started, the consumer saw sparks under the hood fuse block at the same time the gauges fluctuated and shorted, the right rear tail lights were inoperative, and the fuel gauge made a whirring sound when the vehicle was started.

Dont know where to start. Squeaking noise when going over bumps (sounds like it is coming from suspension). Metal grinding noise in brakes, ticking noise from engine, seat belt and airbag lights have come on for no reason, rear latch has come open while driving, tail lights and brake lights burning out freqently, transmission was slipping on take off, no cause found in the several times it has been taken in for this. Now my transmission is out. Just happened yesturday. Don't feel like I can blame the dealership after reading all the complaints. I think the fault lies on the shoulders of GM.

problem #10

Feb 182002

Trailblazer 6-cyl

  • 4,928 miles
Problems with air bag dash light, fast engine idle, air conditioner, rear hatch inner strap broke, etc... the airbag light was intermittent. The sir module was replaced, and there was poor terminal connection at the sir wiring harness, and was traced/repaired on the left side impact connector and the codes were cleared. The engine idled fast(especially at start up, and the fuel mileage was 13 mpg. The results of the evaluation and repairs were: Passenger impact connector was loose(repositioned/connected), idle within specifics, the emblem had fallen off, the rear hatch inner strap had broken, the transmission seemed to take long to shift into gear(happened sometimes when cold), and the PCM needed to be reprogrammed(J6355 power train controller PCM). There was a thumping sound in the rear differential when shifted, the A/C would blow out cold air when the A/C indicator was off, hot air would come out of the defroster area on the dash when the indicator was set for heater on the floor, the engine made a tapping sound, the lift gate weather strip had come apart, and the battery kept losing charge(3 occurrences).

Air bag light was on. Serviced at dealer 4 times and problem was still on going. They found codes, passenger side air bag deployment loop open, and voltage out of range. Air bag module replaced. After several months, at start up, speedometer, gas gauge and dash lights failed. Vehicle restarted and that's when the airbag light came back on. Dealer updated instrument panel cluster. Sop in air bag, panel module going open, replaced passenger instrument panel module. Was ok for one week. Had intermittent air bag light come on again. Have not recontacted dealer.
