Ok, I just wanna add my B1@ch about this darn truck. The darn instrument cluster started failing with the oil pressure gauge dropping to zero. I am out of town and have to take it to the shop just to find out there is nothing wrong with the oil pump. Next the tachometer fails, then the speedometer starts going bezerk!

I agree with you on this issue. I called GM and they took my case number down and told me to go get a diagnostic test and they will call the dealership and see how they can help with this. They gave me a case # and all. Come to find out they return my call like they said only to tell me since my truck is over 50,000 miles and there is recall for this, they cannot help me . If it becomes a recall I will be notified. They knew they were not going to help me in the first place. Why would they even act like they were. Talk about a whole bunch of BS. This is my first and last GM car I will ever buy.

This is crazy, I look up complaints and this site is the first one that shows up and not only does it have the trailblazer but it is the exact year. How long and how many people are going to be injured or killed before this problem is fixed by GM. I never had a GM before and after this I WILL NEVER buy another. Bailing them out was a huge mistake, I think our roads will be safer once this company goes under for good.

Not having gauges and having kids in the car is just too dangerous for me to fathom, I will continue to drive my Concorde that has over 130,000 miles on it, at least I know how fast I am going and if I am going to run out of gas. I may be out 4wd but who knows if that still works on the trailblazer now either.

My speedometer, fuel gauge, and oil gauge have all stopped working. Absolutely ridiculous that there is not a recall on this problem. Especially after looking in to it a little more and discovering that it is an ongoing problem! I don't think that after this I will ever own or recommend a Chevy vehicle to anyone that I know.

This is a huge pain in my A**, I am never sure if my car might be overheating or if im out gas, speeding, no oil, you get the point. We need to have Chevy recall this and correct the problem!!!! And know my car is stalling at stoplights and stop signs. I'm terrified to pull out in front of anyone that it will quit. I love my car but you need to fix the problem, I value my life and my children s life. What has to happen someone has to be killed to get this fixed???????????

I have a 2004 Trailblazer. I was happy with it at first. they at 40,000km the instrument cluster stopped working. Again, because it was past the 4 year warranty, they wouldn't fix it. I'm totally regreting getting this vehicle now. Im at 93,000km and the lower lumbar support option in my vehicle has also stopped working. Also the day before yesterday my heated seat started to smell like it was burning while I was driving to work, and not it's not working either..... I also have a 1995 Jeep Cherokee I've had since it had 150,000km on it. It's now at 304,000km and I've spent less money and had less frustration with that thing since I bought it used that I have with this stupid trailblazer. I tried to google where to complain to Cheverolet, and all I get it their stupid web site tryint to sell me more of their "quality built vehicles".

I can tell you one thing for sure. their customer service is great.... as long as you don't have a problem. I'll be shopping someplace else verry soon. I dont' even want to sell this thing to another person, cause I'm confident these aren't the only problems it's going to have... and from reading this site it looks like the instrument cluster thing can happen again.... great....

Our Trailblazer Dash Problem Started With The Batt Gauge Arrow Pointing Down , It Than Moved To The Oil Pressure Gauge Arrow Pointing Down , Now The Speedo Is All Over The Place , This Problem Has Just Started In The Last Month , However I did Notice Off & On When The Fuel Level Got Low That The Needle Would Bounce Back & Forth Once And Awhile Until We Filled Up The Truck , That May Be The First Sign Of Trouble On These . No Recall On This Issue , Terrible Customer Service Problem , This Is Major Problem That Should Be Covered By G.M. , It Is Safety Issue, People Have Had This Problem At All Mileage From As Low As 25,000 ( That Should Be Covered 3/36,000 ) To 80,000 . I Filed A Complaint W/ The NHSB , I Got The Number From Other Complaints on The Internet . They Told Me If I Fix My Dash Problem ( $ 500.00 To $550.00 ) To Have The Cluster Replaced & G.M. Issues A Recall That G.M. Will Reimburse Me The Cost .

The 2004 Chevy Trailblazer LS.... What can I say; bought it for a girl friend now I'm stuck with this piece of sh*t. After I took the car from her while I packed and left, a week later the instrument panel quit working. Sometimes it would come back on and flicker. Now the gauges show nothing and the christmas colored warning lights stay on day and night. I have done some research upon this topic and have discovered it cost about $500.00 dollars to replace the instrument panel. However I do believe it could be a loose connection; therefore one may not have to buy the entire istrument panel. Therefore I can say perhaps one can just buy the wire harness for the instrument panel. That could save some money if it were possible. Moreover whatever you do, DO NOT BUY FOR A GIRL FRIEND!

The cluster instrument panel is being replace this is costing me $580.00 I think there should be a recall on this issue due to the fact that this can cause traffic accidents I was at the CHEVROLET Dealership & at the service center there was another trailblazer with the same problem

Since the first day I brought home the new Trailblazer, the lights have fluctuated. I immediately took it in for repair and the service department said they couldn't find a problem. I've complained about the same thing at every service call with no resolve. Now the instrument cluster needs to be replaced. Is this related? I see this as a huge safety risk. $500. to repair something that could cause a traffic accident! and this instrument cluster is failing on thousands of these vehicles. Do we need to wait for a death to have a recall? Why are some models recalled and others not, when it is the same cluster problem?

Thanks again GM. what a crock of 5h!t certified pre-owned my @ss. 6 months After buying my trailblazer the onstar stopped working they neglected to tell me they were switching services even though i was charged extra for it when I bought the car. Now my dashboard is growing crazy. I brought it in and they told me it was a problem with my ignition. $350.00 dollars later I went and picked up my car, before pulling it out of the lot I realized everything is still messed up. I am done with GM I am debating trading this thing in at a Nissan dealer this week. The dealership told me they misdiagnosed the problem and it will be another 500 to fix the cluster. What a cluster F%@k im not paying another dime. I called GM and they told me there is nothing they can do, possibly the worst service ever. The best advice for the problem is to avoid buying GM all together 10k left in car payments and all I got is a lemon.

I bought this car used, and everything worked. A month later the speedometer went all crazy, then went completely out! Soon after that everything else in the dash went out also. About 3 months after all of this happend, the passanger tail light went out, and I replaced it. As soon as I replaced the tail light, the driver head light went out the next damn day! Now im stuck with this piece of S**T, the gauges dont work, im always going 120! Sometimes on E, and I always need to change the ENGINE OIL!@! O yeah, My tail light went out again 2 months ago. And last week I turned the car on and my radio stopped working. If this is not a recall situation, than I dont what is! All I want is this problem fixed and no one seems to know what the problem is. I took it a mechanic, and he said there was nothing wrong as far as his equipment could tell! What tha hell! Maybe someone should sue the hell out of GM and get there sorry asses out of making cars!! Okay Im done now!!!

Cluster problem caused tachometer and speedometer to malfunction. I paid 200 deductible and my extended warranty covered the rest. I think it was about 700 total to replace the cluster. Other year vehicles were covered under a recall but not the 2004.

Trailblazer LS V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

On my way to a repair shop to replace the thermostat in my 2004 trailblazer, the instrument panel cluster went out. All of my gauges except tach and spedo went out and every warning light came on.

Called GM and got no where. They said there have been no recalls and they "didn't" have any reports of problems with any year of the trailblazer.

Called The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration at 1-800-424-9393 and there have been many reports filed along with mine now. If people are calling the NHTSA to complain, wouldn't they have called the source first?

I'm not trying to get a free fix, but when someone makes something that obviously has problems but trys to cover it up then I'm going to do everything I can to correct it. It's stealing because we have to pay to replace the faulty part.

My 2004 Chevy Trailblazer had to get a new instrument panel cluster, which cost $544. After reading all the websites and the customer complaints, it's sad that General Motors would not issue a recall. I do not think my next car will be a GM product. I have also had problems with the rear break light and lift gate.

Trailblazer LT V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 81,000 miles

At about 52,000miles my entire instrument panel stopped working!! my speedometer works most of the time but for the last 6months NONE of my gauges work, if it weren't for the fact i can reset my miles when i fill up on gas i would have NO idea when i was on E. Also, several of the instrument panel warning lights stay on, so if i were to have a real problem i would have no idea bc the lights are on 24/7. Also when i start my car my instrument panel registers 'unknown driver' nice....

GM/Chevy says there is no recall and is pretty much as worthless as every dealership that tells me they cannot diagnose the problem! THREE of my friends drive '04 and '05s with the same problem, one of them had it fixed just to have it quit again.

IF YOU WANT THIS PROBLEM TO HOPEFULLY BE RECALLED YOU MUST MUST MUST CALL THIS NUMBER WITH YOUR COMPLAINT!!!! 1 800 424 9393 It is the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, if they see a pattern in this safety problem they will issue a recall:)

it only took a few minutes and also gave me other toll free numbers to call if i felt GM/Chevy hadn't dealt with my problem appropriately

Good luck!
