Instrument panel - complete failure while vehicle was in service. Was driving down I95 near richmond va and the speedometer did not decrease in speed while I was slowing down. When I accelerated the speedometer would increase and would not drop. The speedometer final reached 120mph. Safety issue as one is unable to know what speed one is traveling which could have led to an accident. Took vehicle to GMC / Buick / Cadillac dealer in athens ga. Took one week to get a replacement cluster box. Cost of repair $401.50. Contacted GM.

The problems that are happening to my 2004 Chevy Trailblazer : I am having a whining noise in the front end of the vehicle and when I try to engage into 4WD the sound worsens and there is a vibration in the front as well the whining almost resembles a low siren sound. I am also having a major malfunction with my speedometer since the weather has gotten colder"?" I could only be moving 10mph and it will register to 120 or even surpass it and then get stuck, the only way to unstick it is to shut the car off and keep restarting it until it resets itself but now it is stuck and wont reset, I went online to see if there were any recalls and I all I found out was there were tons of people having the same issues with their Trailblazers as I am having. These problems are occurring at all different times during the life of the car some people have them happen around 30,000 miles or some 50 thousand and myself the speedometer is happening around 72,000 miles. The speedometer seemed to start to act up once the weather was colder. Its a shame they will fix the larger SUV's due to a lawsuit but since this is a smaller SUV it's not covered. We have tried to replace the wheel bearings in the truck for the front end noise to only find the noise did not disappear after reading many of other complaints from others it seems this could be the transfer case on the truck. I am not going to keep replacing part after part to only find out its the drive train and something should be done about this.

I own a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer lt and in the last six months my speedometer stops working. It freezes either at 10 mph or goes all over the 120 mph. When I received my recent oil changed I asked for them to check it and than said they would need to replace cluster kit to the tune of $500. But they wanted me to check with GM and see if there was recall because they have seen several 2004 Trailblazers with the same problem. When I looked up GM there was no recall issued, so now I have to pay out of pocket to get it fixed. I was told to file a compliment.

The speedometer in my 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer ls is not working properly. The needle is pointing at 120mph while the vehicle is stopped and the needle continues clockwise past 120mph as I accelerate, therefore I am not able to accurately determine the speed at which I am traveling causing a safety hazard to myself and other persons on the roadways. This did occur as I was traveling on interstate 30 in central Arkansas. I was going 70mph and the speedometer gradually dropped to 0mph then later the needle moved to 120mph.

I am a military member and have been back and forth to iraq and afghanistan, I own a Chevy Trailblazer 2004, the speedometer has been messed up for several months showing 30 mph at a stop and changing every day to a new speed. It is a very stressful knowing that your spouse is in the states driving a unreliable vehicle, on top of the stress from the deployment itself. To get this fixed its going to cost 400-600 dollars which should not have to paid by the vehicle owners since it is a large complaint for most of the Chevy models from 04-06.
