The first time I noticed the fuel gauge no longer worked, was when it showed 1/2 full and I ran out of gas 3 miles from my house. The gauge continued to show 1/2 full, before we figured out it was out of gas. We then filled the tank and the gauge then stayed on empty and the dinger continued to notify us that the gauge read empty. Two days later the gauge finally read 3/4 full (yeah! no more dinger). Next fill up it went back to empty as before. It continues to do this. You have to rely on the trip gauge to determine if your tank is full or empty. It will go approx. 250-304 miles before you need to fill up again. Very annoying. Worst yet, It feels planned because it started this only 2,000 miles over warranty. Bummer! Haven't fixed it yet afraid of the cost.

the first time i left my tank run low, to the point of the light coming on, the light never went off, and the gauge indicator did not move. tank has been filled many times since and the fuel level low indicator comes on, the gauge moves a little bit from time to time, then goes back to showing empty, the most it will move is up to 1/2 tank indicator. this happened when the car was out of warranty. This is only the 2nd time in my llife that I purchased a brand new car, and I am very disappointed.

THE VEHICLE IS 2 AN 1/2 YEARS OLD AND THE DEALER ORIGINALLY WANTED 1300.00 TO REPLACE THE TANK! AFTER QUESTIONING, THEY REPLACED THE SENSOR. HAD THE CAR BACK TWICE TO THE DEALER BEFORE PROBLEM WAS FIXED. VERY INCONVENIENT.

The Dealer was willing to repair the problem if it was the Module in the dash that was bad under an extended warranty from GM but since it was the sensor in the tank they would not cover it.
I have a freind that has a 2004 Blazer that had the same problem which had the same results, they will replace the Module but not the sensor. I dont how many complaints about the fuel sensor or the Module have come up but the Dealer where I took my car for service indicated that there have been quite a few complaints about this problem

How ironic that this happened just 2,000 miles after the warranty expired!!! I'm not the only one that this has happened to right after the warranty expired!!! HMMMMM....
