Gas gauge doesn't read correctly. When I fill up the gas gauge it will stay on empty and the light will stay on. After driving for a day or so the gas gauge will fluctuate from empty to full numerous times. I keep track of my miles to know when to fill up and never know how much gas I have. There are numerous complaints similar to my problem. Go to www.topix.com/forum/autos/Chevrolet-Trailblazer/th8ji6tepo3vrji3D/P2. I only read 20 complaints and of course there are many more to read. Please have this problem known and fixed since it isn't under recall.

My fuel gauge indicator light remains on indicating low fuel. At first when I would fill the tank the gauge would shoot to 'E' and then would ready properly after driving 20-30 miles. Now, the gauge remains on 'E' with the indicator light on indicating low fuel regardless to me filling up my tank. I have no way of telling how much fuel is in my vehicle at any given time. This is a hazard to myself and my family with the constant wondering if today will be the day I run out of gas. This is also costing me more to keep putting gas in my vehicle to make sure I have enough to carry out my daily affairs.

I am the owner of a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer. My vehicle has recently reached 41,000 miles., and the gas gauge has started floating. I usually do a fill up at least once a week. No matter what level the gas is at, the gauge does not read properly. At this point, I have to maintain more than a half of a tank of gas. If I don't, the needle floats over to "E" causing my low fuel light to come on. I know a few others who own a Chevy Trailblazer who are having the same issue. However, I have been told by Chevy that this is not a recall issue.

I own a 2005 Trailblazer. Its a great vehicle but problem's of great concern have risen. I would like to petition to have Chevrolet to display a campaign for the recall and correction of a fuel gage problem which myself and many, many Trailblazer owners are having. It involves the fuel gage not functioning properly displaying empty and or a variety of levels of the fuel tank. The amount of complaints which I have found on the internet of Trailblazer owners should warrant an action from Chevrolet to repair the problem with no costs to the owners of these vehicles. Please investigate and you will see the situation. I hope an action to correct is the responsibility of Chevrolet because it is definitely an design issue. Why do the owners have to pay something that is not functioning properly and definitely an issue from the manufacturer. The other issue is very serious. The doors lock automatically when the vehicle is not in drive or the engine is running. Case in point, my wife stopped at the service station to fill up with fuel, left the keys in the ignition close the door and started to fuel up. Part way in the filling as she stood there outside of the vehicle, her purse inside on the seat and the doors locked on their own. She then had to barrow someone's cell phone to call on-star to unlock the doors. I did not think much on it and thought she had did something to trigger the action. Well one day I was in the sitting truck and waiting for my wife. I have the key in the ignition, the engine not running and then the doors locked by themselves. I did nothing to trigger this. Now I believe there is something very wrong. This locking by themselves will be very serious if a mother has an child or infant inside the vehicle and he or she is possibly getting fuel or something. What if this happened and the child or infant started choking or convulsions or a very hot day and help is many minutes away. Does Chevrolet not care?

I have a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer and I noticed the fuel gauge was showing empty the last two months. At first it would show empty and a few minutes later it would show the correct reading. Now it remains on empty and if the gauge does move it only goes as far as 1/4 tank full, if that. I have yet to take the car in to the dealership as I have noticed that there are many more vehicles of the same model and type that are having the same problems.
