Living in Maine, it's not like there are gas stations on every street corner. I left for work one morning, knowing I had plenty of gas, my surprise approximately half way there, my gas light came on. The gauge was on empty. I was in a panic, I still had about 15 miles to go before I was near a gas station. I finally got to a gas station, and surprise again, it only took about 10 gallons to fill it. I did some research about this problem, there have been over 800,000 complaints on fuel gauge problems on these type vehicles!! come on, times are tough, I can't afford to get this fixed.. do a recall!!

Fuel sensor never gives correct reading causing me to run out of gas on 2 separate occasions, also the drivers side door control panel keeps going on and off only working some of the time and going in and out as I am driving.

The gas gauge on my 2007 Chevy Trailblazer began registering erratically in 2010. Approximately 3 months later, it completely quit working. The car stalled and died as I was crossing 2 lanes of traffic from a driveway. As it was not under a manufacturer warranty, Chevy has now agreed to pay 50% of the cost of repair due to previous investigation. However, the scope of the problem is probably greater than has been reported as a coworker also had the same problem with his 2005 GMC Envoy. He has since replaced the vehicle due to additional electrical problems. My father-in-law has also replaced his 2007 Chevy Trailblazer that also had the same problem and cost $800 to repair. This repair should not be a voluntary 50% cost to GMC but rather a recall.

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact was driving 30 mph when the fuel gauge provided an erroneous reading of empty. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where the mechanic confirmed that the fuel sensor needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure and the current mileages were 56,000.

Fuel gauge inaccurately reads empty when tank has been filled. Fuel gauge will jump from empty, to 3/4 tank, to 1/2 full to 1/4 tank and back to empty with fuel light and audio warning within less than 5 minutes. When this happens check engine light comes on.

Fuel gauge drops to empty with low fuel light coming on, no matter how much gas is in vehicle. Sometimes it fluctuates back and forth. Never sure how much gas is in vehicle. Which this creates a big problem since I Transport handicap people in my vehicle. Also driver side window operates very slow, sometimes it hesitates on rolling up. I have to let it set for a while, then try rolling it up again. After several times doing this, it has finally rolled up all the way. I think the dealer should fix these problems, without consumer paying for any of it. Especially since these seem to be ongoing problems. I have been lucky reference my door panel hasn't caught fire yet, which could cause a serious traffic accident. Also my slick, skid control lights come on very easily when I take off and stay on till I can shut the car off and restart it, and hope doesn't come back on when I start to drive.

I had started my truck to let it warm up, after coming back out I noticed the gas gauge was incorrect, I turned off the truck and started it again and watched the gauge go from 3/4 of a tank to 1/2. I took it to see if the battery or alternator was bad, the battery tested bad, so I replaced it. The truck was working fine, until 2/26/12, after driving about 30 miles I noticed the gauge had gone from 3/4 to 1/2. while sitting at a light I watched it then go from 1/2 to 1/4 of a tank. I drove to get gas and it only took $21 to fill it. After reading all of the complaints on this problem, I do not understand how there has not been a recall on this product, and why the manufacturer is only willing to pay for half of the repair. I paid alot of money for this product and do not feel that the company is looking out for us. I feel that Chevrolet needs to make this problem a recall and make it right with all the people that have stood by them.

After putting in 13 gals of fuel, the gauge goes back & forth from full to empty. The cause the empty light to come on. The gauge goes back to half. This just occurred.

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. While driving approximately 20 mph, the contact noticed the fuel gauge displayed an inaccurate reading which indicated the fuel tank was empty. The fuel tank consumed half the fuel level capacity when the malfunction occurred. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the fuel lever sensor was replaced. The contact was responsible for fifty percent of the repair cost due to the manufacturer's extended warranty. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 28,019...updated 09/07/12 the consumer stated the fuel gauge read 3/4 full. After driving about 15 miles, the fuel gauge alarmed to notify the tank was near empty. GM had a "special coverage" not a recall. Updated 09/17/2012

#1-the fuel gauge stopped working on this vehicle while going down the highway. I went online to see if I could get an answer for why it would just suddenly quit working. It was there that I found hundreds of people who experienced the same problem. When I called Chevrolet about it, they said they could fix it for $500. I ended up having just the fuel sending unit replaced about 5 months ago and am now experiencing the same problem again. Chevrolet is fully aware of the problem, as they sent me a paper saying that if I got it repaired at a Chevy garage they would reimburse 50% of the costs. To me having been an issue for many years Chevy should pay to have the problem fixed not me! #2- during routine driving we attempted to roll down the driver side window and it failed to operate properly. I tried it a couple of times and had no luck. When I reached my destination I looked to see if maybe a wire was cut in the door hinge area, which it wasn't, and put my finger on the switch and noticed it was extremely warm. I shut the car off, left the door opened and allowed it to cool down. It works intermittently and still gets very warm when it doesn't work properly.

Fuel gauge sending unit has failed. The fuel gauge no longer reads accurately. It will show empty with the check engine light on while the tank in full, also masking an actual check engine problem. It also shows full fuel when the tank is less than half full.

The fuel gauge in my 2007 Chevy Trailblazer continuously drops to empty shortly after starting my car, despite having a full tank. This happens every time I drive my car no matter how much gas is in the tank.

First indication of the problem was erratic level readings on the fuel gauge as well as engine problem indicator illuminated. Now the fuel gauge indicates empty at all times even when the tank is full, engine light stays on. These faults are very disconcerting as well as being dangerous. What if a legitimate engine problem develops" what if we mis-calculate the amount of fuel that is in the tank and we are on some highway in rush hour traffic or somewhere late at night" in my opinion, Chevrolet should take care of this defect, the consumer should not have to pay one (1) dollar for a faulty part. I can honestly say that this will be the last Chevrolet that I will ever own if they do not do the right thing. I work with a lot of auto enthusiasts and I have told some of them about this vehicles' issues, they are not impressed.

I noticed the first time there was an issue with my gas gauge when I was sitting at the bank drive thru and it dinged at me that I needed gas. I thought it odd, because I thought I had just filled up. I went to fill up and it only cost $20, so then I knew something was wrong. Gas gauge stayed at 1/2 tank regardless of full or empty, then got stuck at 1/4 tank, now stays on empty at all times. I have to keep track of miles and always fill up (which is not easy if the funds are not available). I've since run out of gas 3 times. Luckily, either time, neither of my 2 small kids were in the car with me. This is very frustrating, not only running out of gas, but even more so hearing that GM is only willing to cover 1/2 of the expense, if you take your truck to an already over priced dealership.

On one occasion while driving 65 mph, the vehicle ran out of fuel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The VIN was unavailable. The failure and the current mileages were 95,000. Updated 02/15/12 the fuel level sensor failed. Updated 04/18/12
