Fuel gauge started fluctuating between full and empty, now it just stays on empty. 09-09-2011 with car in park the idle sometimes goes up to 2100 rpms then will go as low as 600 rpms, recently as of 09-16-2011 I have been noticing a fluctuation in speed on its own or without my assistance.

The fuel gauge light went on when the vehicle still had nearly 10 gallons of gas. The fuel gauge will read full for a week and then the fuel light when come on suddenly. There have been multiple occasions when the fuel gauge read empty, but I was only able to fill up with 8 gallons (fuel tank is 20 gallons plus). Fuel gauge has been so inaccurate that I have been forced to use my trip odometer and I don't feel confident taking car on a road trip or out of town.

Fuel gauge shows empty, while there is still plenty of fuel in tank. When the vehicle is first started, the gauge reads correctly, but as soon as the vehicle is in motion, the gauge drops to empty. When tank is 100% full, the gauge reads correct until around 100 miles, when the gauge immediately drops to empty. Online research is showing this to be a known issue, possibly with the fuel sending unit attached to the pump.

I own a 2007 Chevy Trailblazer. The fuel gauge started fluctuating erratically and the gas light would come on and stay on. Then eventually it stop working altogether. My wife has ran out of gas in it one time. From the complaints I've been reading. I'm not the only consumer experiencing this same problem. I have called dealerships about this repair and it will be very expensive to fix it. I feel the manufacture should step up and fix their problem. Its obvious that you have one. Fuel gauge keeps showing empty when I know there is fuel in the vehicle. The faulty gauge goes from half full to the empty light (warning) coming on after driving less than 10 miles. This has been going on for about 3 weeks and just yesterday I received a letter from GM saying they will cover 50% of the cost to repair. It's faulty equipment and GM should put a "recall" in place and cover the total cost to repair!

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated the fuel gauge failed to display an accurate reading with fuel consumed in the fuel tank. The manufacturer mailed a notification offering to reimburse fifty percent towards the fuel level sensor repair expense. The failure was not diagnosed nor was the vehicle repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 52,000.

2007 Trailblazer at 51000 mi. Fuel gauge reading incorrectly after filling it would read ok for aprox. 100mi. Then drop to empty. Now 10,000mi later it is permanently on empty. I am driving using the trip meter. I think this should be recalled for safety reasons.

Filled by my 2007 Chevy Trailblazer yesterday and the fuel gauge reads empty and the fuel light stays on. Took my vehicle to the dealer and was told that I missed the warranty by 3,000 miles and it will be almost $800 to repair. Have read online that hundreds of consumers are experiencing the same problem with the same type of vehicle from 2005-2007 so there is obviously a defect in the manufacture. This needs to be looked into and handled, it is obvious the dealer needs to recall these vehicles and correct the problem.
