Service air bag warning. Traction stabilitrak service and ABS light are on cutting engine power to wheels. In motion highway speed.
- Malta, ID, USA
Engine power reduced, stability track loss lights came on and my vehicles engine power came to a stop with my children in the car with my wife on the hwy. Could not move the vehicle. Dealership can not figure out the issue, only found multiple codes from the past and still could not solve the issue. GM needs to stand by their product and replace these vehicles asap or fix this issue. Lawsuits will be filed.

Car lost power on highway due to service stabilizer message. Then the dealership informed me that my power steering was leaking and needs a 2400 repair which I see is covered by service bulletin sb-10052379-9767 but they say my VIN number isn't covered.

During a long drive thru heavy traffic the tc turned off unable or very hard to steer the wheel, the car turned off engine light came on, fortunately I was passing an exit and was able to safetly pull over. Had to turn off the car for about 10 min so the engine light stays off. First time happened also in a heavy traffic same tc turned off very hard to steer engine light on, I was able to safetly park on side road whited about 10 min until finally the engine light turnered off

I was sitting at a light and heard chimes. The vehicle display showed service traction control, service stabilitrak and traction control turned off. When the light changed the vehicle would not move. There was some kind of engine loss but it did not stall out. The radio and the air were on and working fine. I tried many attempts multiple times to get the car to move but it would not move. This included putting it in park and also turning it on and off. The warnings continued to flash. Then after one attempt I felt it start to move at an extremely low rate of speed. As I was turning into a parking lot I felt something catch and the vehicle started moving at a normal speed. I turned the vehicle on and off again once I was in the parking lot. The engine light appeared but the service stabilitrak and service traction control did not display again. I know for a fact the engine light was not on when I was unable to move the vehicle. I took the vehicle to the dealer and they were unable to duplicate the problem. There was nothing done to the vehicle and I was told that they have to duplicate it. I was also told this will occur again, the problem will not go away but get progressively worse over time and hopefully the next time the vehicle will not be able to start. I checked NHTSA website and there seems to be a number of complaints made for the exact same thing with many makes and models. This is a lease vehicle and I did contact GM and have a case number. I understand cars breakdown but what I don't understand is that a serious safety issues needs to be duplicated before a part can be replaced. I find it hard to believe there is not a recommended fix for this.

The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Traverse. While driving approximately 55 mph, the stabilitrac warning light suddenly flashed off and on. The vehicle suddenly shut off, causing the power steering and power brakes to stop functioning. After the incident, the vehicle could not be restarted. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, but the cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 29,000.

Our vehicle only has 15000 miles on it. I was driving ot normally in a 35 zone on a city street and my car started to shake and not accelerate. All the warning lights and bells and whistles started going off. I immediately took it into my Chevy dealer to see what was wrong. After having it less than 24 hours they gave it back to me saying they saw the warning on the computer and they did nothing cause the car isn't doing it anymore. After doing research on the internet, I see it has been a problem with the Traverse since 2011 models. The Chevy dealership does nothing to fix this. I am terrified to drive this car with my family and have us get in an accident. I have owned this car for 1.5 years and bought it brand new. Please investigate this.. someone could get hurt or killed while driving one.

Traveling at 65+ mph the vehicle looses power, little shaking, engine light blinks and after 1/2 mile + the vehicle goes back to normal. Very dangerous on the highway and we almost got rear ended. Been at the dealership 2 times with no repair of the issue. Filed a complaint with GM.

1.- during the last quarter of 2015, the vehicle started failing, shutting down itself on road or pulled over (random fail) 2.- after several days of 'analysis', they determined that a 'module' was damaged and had to be exchanged zero cost, since the vehicle is still under warranty. 3.- after several days of the car on the workshop, the finally provide us the car again, stating that everything was properly fixed and resolved. 4.- on January 2016, vehicle shutdown surprisingly on a road at high speed. Vehicle was sold in Mexico and dealership has not provided satisfactory service

While driving at a speed around 25-30 mph the vehicle had multiple issues arise at once: 1.) the vehicle started shaking violently and accelerating independently with engine RPM's reaching as high as 6000. The vehicle continued this and would jump from around 2000 RPM to 6000 RPM and continue to accelerate on its own; 2.) error message, failure, and complete loss of the traction control system; 3.) error message, failure, and complete loss of the stabilitrack system; and 4.) error message and failure of the park assist system. The vehicle was pulled to the side of the road and shut off for a few minutes. When restarted the problems reoccurred and the vehicle required towing to the nearest Chevrolet dealership. This is not a unique problem to one Traverse. This has been a reoccurring issue with multiple documented complaints over the years and no recalls or service bulletins have been issued to address it. This is a highly dangerous problem and could cause a major accident with serious injuries or death.

The service stabilitrac; traction control is off, park assist is off, and check engine light along with ebs warning lights all come on along with loss of power; the car won't go over 25. This has happened several times; the first time it was wet, along with happening several other times when it was wet; then it happened last week when it was completely dry as I got off the interstate in heavy traffic; with the accelerator to the floor it would only go aprox 15-20 mph, along with all the lights once again coming on. The dealer did not document the first time we took it in for this problem, the just told us they had no idea what it could be unless they could see it happening. Unfortunately it resets itself usually after being turned off for a while and it does not happen on a predictable way there is no warning it just happens. The 2nd time we took it in they only documented that it was a forward & reverse problem; the only part of that that's true is that the 1st time it happened it was after I stopped then it would only go in reverse for about 20mins then it was fine the check engine light stayed on until they shut it off. The last time it happen the dealer wanted me to pay them a $95 diagnostic fee before they would even look at it. This is a safety hazard; if this problem would get fixed I love my car; but as it stands I'm afraid I'm gonna end up in an accident; I am seriously considering trading it in on a safer vehicle, even though I haven't had it quite 2 yrs yet. I have contacted Chevy via the internet to express my concerns; they just took my info and the problem and said the would research what was going on; I still haven't heard from them & that was over a week ago.

I was doing about 70 on xway and car started to slow down and jerking and engine light came on and said something about traction control off and also stability control. It lasted for about 30 seconds and then was ok. I took it in and they could not find anything. Now this happened again yesterday as I was getting onto the xway at about 55 mph. Now 29700 miles as I take again tomorrow and see if they can find anything this time.

While accelerating to 40 mph, the vehicle suddenly started vibrating followed by stability control and traction error messages, the check engine light on, a burning smell due to random braking as part of the control and an engine down power. This incident is similar to many others reported over a period of years and is unacceptable from a safety stand point when my entire family is within the vehicle. I will not accept a ridiculous explanation from the dealer. Honestly, I want another vehicle. I knew Chevy would be trouble.
