I get the message "Shift to Park" when I park my car and turn it off. Sometimes I can turn my car back on and move my shifter to R, N, or D and then back to park and the message is gone. Sometimes I have to do it several times lasting about 10 minutes before it goes off. I can't leave my care like this because I can't lock my car, it leaves my radio on, and when I shut by car door I get a dinging sound to let me know something is wrong.

I put my car in park, turned it off, and the shift to park message came up. I started my car again, moved the shift to R, then N, then out it back in park. I turned the car off but the message was still there. I had repeat this several times before the message went off.
I am getting it fixed but my extended warranty says that part is not under warranty but I looked and they have a different name for the part than what GM has. I think they is a miscommunication with GM and my insurance company. Someone needs to update the part number.
