This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have a Malfunction Indicator Lamp on after the vehicle has been run out of fuel. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Code P0AB9 and or P16E0 stored. Dealer should verify the low fuel condition occurred and then refuel vehicle. After the vehicle has been refueled the technician can clear the Diagnostic Trouble Code. If the Diagnostic Trouble Code resets, technician should follow published Service Information diagnostics.
