As I approached a traffic light I began to brake. As I came to a complete stop my car's engine cut off and all lights on the dashboard lit up. I struggled to avoid hitting the car in front of me as the car came to a complete stop. I turned the car key on off position and cranked it up. Twenty minutes later as I came to another stop the car shut off and began to roll backwards into the car behind me. I was able to stop the car from rolling by heavily applying the brakes. I put the car into park and cranked it and it started but then immediately shut off again. I was able to crank the car a second time and drive off. I immediately took the car to the dealer.

First incident occurred when I was traveling on interstate. Approximate speed was 65. I began to slow in far right lane for exit ramp. The car immediately died leaving me with no ability to get off high way. No power steering, lights, etc. The car did start again after being put into park and turning ignition. Very dangerous as fast moving traffic behind me had to slam on brakes. Second incident occurred when sitting at a stop light. All of a sudden the engine revved up and car jerk forward into intersection. My foot was on brake but it still lurched forward. When I took to dealer they said they could find nothing wrong when they ran a diagnostic.

When shifting into reverse or drive it has a hard jolt when going into gear. Sometimes it is so hard that it jerks your body and head/neck, and it sounds like the transmission is going to unbolt from under the car. It does it a couple times a day, and then may stop for a few days but always comes back. I have noticed on the days it is not doing it I average more mpg, and when it is doing it the mpg continuously decreases when it is occuring multiple days in a row. On the days that it is doing it my transmission sounds more whiny than than usual. I have also had issues when putting it into gear, and pushing the gas pedal it tries to stall. It is a problem, and not "just the way those motors are". if it was "just the way the motor" is then it would do it every time you put it in gear, and not come and go and be much worse on some days than others. As time passes the jolting is getting worse and harder. Also, my brakes make an awful squeeking/grinding noise when stopping slowly (stop sign) or backing up. When the car was checked I was told they could not find anything wrong with the car or brakes. This is very agrivating because it was bought brand new, and I am having these issues. I am making payments on a vehicle that is having these types of issues, and I do not feel safe in it. The way the transmissions acts I am afraid of what it may do while driving down the road.

Since purchasing this vehicle on 12/26/2011, the vehicle has stalled, completely turned off 3 different times while stopped at an intersection waiting for a traffic light to change. In all three instances, I had to put the vehicle in park and it restarted. I feel that this is dangerous and seems to be related to NHTSA action number PE12016. I am going to take it to the dealer but before I did, I wanted to see if other owners were having the same problem or if anything had been recalled when I discovered the numerous complaints.
