I own a 2012 Chrysler 200, the engine stops/fails about every two months while braking or while stopped. This is dangerous as it can stop anywhere and they might rear end the car or something. I have taken my car to the Chrysler dealership 4 different times with the same issue, the first time they changed the PCM. After about 2 months the car's engine stopped while braking or while at a stoplight. The 2nd and 3rd time I took the car they did not find anything wrong with the car and gave it to me after a couple of days. The 4th time when I took the car they said that it was the battery and they put in a new battery. Well about 2 days ago the car stopped again while at a stoplight. I have not taken the car to the dealership as they never find anything wrong with the vehicle. I am tired of them not finding what is wrong with the car. I believe that I speak for many Chrysler 200 owners when I say that an investigation needs to be done for the whole Chrysler group, especially to the 200, which have many complaints online and none one seems to find the solution. Please investigate this for the safety of the drivers. I am so sick and tired of the mopar mechanics not finding anything. I do not know if the issue is with the PCM, computer, or engine. Please investigate.

We got recall P25/NHTSA 14V-234 I called the dealership in garden city long island, NY tel 516 292 9764 to make an appointment, I have been there several times for oil change. I requested about this recall and there response- 1- oh we do not have part in stock, we will call you when we get the part, 2- on the phone they keep transferring the line, finally I end up with leaving message, but no call from them. 3-they keep you on hold so long that you have to hang up the phone. I do not know what to do. I feel this dealership is arrogant, irresponsible, unprofessional and danger to the car owners. I hope you take action immediately. I might be one case but there are millions of mini van like mine. Thanks for your cooperation. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

While driving the battery light came on and electrical systems began to fail. Radio, ABS system, windows and ac all shut off. The car failed to accelerate properly and engine would not shift gears. Braking and steering systems became compromised before car completely stalled and coasted to stop on side of road. Approximately 2-3 minutes from battery light going on to the car becoming totally nonresponsive. Car would not start, unless jumped. Required tow. Dealership states the issue was an alternator that shorted, and in turn burned out the battery. Required the replacement of both the alternator and the battery at a cost of approximately $1100 (before negotiated discount of 10%).

I noticed after I purchased my vehicle in 2012, I started having issues with my car in 2013. My car started having heat coming from the bottom of my driver and passenger side. I ignored this issue but then it started happening more often. On my last oil change the dealer didn't fill my overflow for the antifreeze so I had a friend to fill it up. After filling the antifreeze he decided to turn on the engine. What happens next is that the antifreeze began to boil. This should not be happening. I made an appointment at the dealer and took it on yesterday. I was told it was the tipm which was shorted out and that the fan wasn't coming on like it should. The cost of this repair is $1275. I believe Chrysler is aware of the issues and that they need to reimburse customers for this issue.

While driving, the car began to rapidly lose functionality while warning lights were appearing on the dashboard until it abruptly shut down while driving in traffic. The time from no warning lights to complete loss of functionality was approximately 10-15 seconds. The shut down included an abrupt loss of power steering and braking capabilities while driving on a busy street at night. I was able to quickly compensate for the loss of power steering and braking and stop the vehicle while avoiding a crash, but just barely. Thankfully, I broke down next to two police officers who helped push my vehicle onto the side of the road. These officers may be able to attest to the fact that no noises or abnormal operation of the vehicle was apparent before the abrupt shut-off while driving. Attempts to restart the vehicle involved no clicking or the engine attempting to turn over. The vehicle is currently being repaired, but the preliminary diagnosis is one of a faulty alternator. I will attempt to retain the faulty alternator from the repair center. I had only started the car 2-3 minutes before the incident and there were no apparent electrical issues (engine struggling to start, lights dimming, etc.) while starting the car or during operation.

Driving car and preparing to stop for a red light the car suddenly stalled..no warning. Everything just quit. Thankfully I was already coming to S stop and was at a point where pulling off of the road was an option. Now today the car will not start. Only 58,000 and driven only locally.. results pending on issue. No codes found yet. Mechanic states that at first look the car appeared to be out of gas, which is not the case. However it looks like this might be a fuel issue. I have seen recalls around the tipm and fuel sensors and prior years recalls for the car stalling.

There is an awful smell of fumes coming through the airvents inside car. It's so terrible that it takes your breath away. Well I found out there is a recall on this because it has something to do with thac 7 heating system. Mold and bacteria has set up around the heater core and the antifreeze has started looking like thick glue or something. Now my heat does not work correctly. The smell that's coming through the vents, well I had to go to emergency room because I could not breath. The smell settles in my clothes and by me breathing it in, the smell has settled in my nostrils. By the time I get to work all my clothes I have on smells. Went to hospital because it has made me so sick, my yes burn from the smell.this is dangerous. The mechanic I saw said the compartment where the antifreeze is needs to be flushed out and thermostat replaced and probably valve gaskets and the heater core may be stop up also since the antifreeze was like glue, the fumes from the vents is bad it can affect your respitory system and your breathing. Lake keowee Chrysler Dodge of senca SC was called about this problem. They said they needed the number from recall. Well this license mechanic is going to tell me how to handle this problem. This has affected my health and it also affected my heating system. It will not work. I have to put on face mask so I won't have to smell that awful fume. I already spoken to an attorney about this.

Under normal driving conditions all of a sudden the vehicle accelerates on its own. The engine stalls and loss of steering. The electronic throttle control warning light comes on and blinks, as well as the engine light and the traction control light comes on. Acceleration is only at 20% of what it normally is with intermittent thrust of power followed by engine failure. This lasts for several miles then the problem seems to disappear. Chrysler has no idea a out this problem with there vehicles and if U take it to an auto repair place. It says the vehicle is fine when they plug it in. I did some research on this to find out what to do and the internet is swamped by people with this car, this same year or around the same year... with the same problem. This vehicle is unsafe. Logic suggests that Chrysler wont voluntarily recall this vehicle for financial reasons which is understandable but at the same time I don't wanna die because I cant control this car when it has the above mentioned "episode".

I have a 2012 Chrysler 200 touring V6 bought it brand new. While driving on the highway taking the off ramp I engage my brakes before I get to the traffic light also engaging my turn signal. As soon as the turn signal is engaged all my lights flicker off and on this included the dash lights, stereo and the center console everything except my headlight flicker. On a few occasions the lights have totally went off and would only come back on when the turn signal was disengaged. I had taken the vehicle to a mechanic who tested my battery and alternator also checking all the fuses. He was at a lose to explain why the [xxx] was doing this. I also contact the dealer who sold me the vehicle and gave me the run around stating that they had not heard of any other vehicles doing this and dismissed my worries with saying its is your battery and or alternator. While driving, attempted turn was made going approx. 10mph and the vehicle completely shut down without warning lights or anything. Once shut down I am able to restart but having this issue remain is frustrating. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership several times and each time no code is found and nothing is able to be done. Having this issue can cause serious damage and is extremely dangerous especially since I have children and I fear for our safety.

I was driving down a busy street, trying to make a left hand turn through traffic, and my car stalled without no warning and everything was locked including brakes. I took it into Chrysler and they couldn't find anything wrong with it because no fault light was coming on. So they took the next step of putting a module on my car for 2 days to see if it happens again, but lucky for me it didn't because the first time was scary enough for me. Then when I took it back in they just told me that when my car does that just put it in neutral and restart it. So three weeks later my car did it again but this time I was on a busy freeway going 70 mph, so I tried their suggestion and it did not work, for the second time everything just quit working in my car. So I called them again talked to the manager at Chrysler and he said if there is no lights coming on when my car does this he really can't do anything about it.
