Takata recall. I have a recall on airbags and seatbelt transponder may not work in event of an accident. I refuse to drive this car and am not waiting until June 2017 for a repair. I want a buyback immediately....with incentive...so I can get on with my life. A rental is being offered at this time. I am not satisfied and a buyback would make more sense.

I was driving straight forward, in the right lane of a four lane highway (two lanes in either direction). A car traveling in the opposite direction, lost control and crossed the highway, striking my car's front end. My car received extensive front end damage. The car was totaled, as was the other car. I was driving and my wife was in the front passenger seat. We were both wearing our seat belts. At the time of the impact, neither airbag deployed, nor did the seat belt pretensioners activate (locking the seat belts in place), causing serious injury to both of us, requiring hospital admittance in the intensive care unit, for myself. Police traffic crash report, photos and other documents are available if required, in the future. Also, I just received a re-call notice, dated October 1, 2016. NHTSA 16V-668, concerning the car I was driving at the time of the crash...updated 01/04/17 - inj but not death as indicated updated 7/25/18

Original owner since 6.28.12 mileage currently 41,145 as of 12.21.15. Seat belt front, driver's side slackened and no longer restrains driver. Belt will not "lock" when vehicle is in gear. Also does not retract any longer, thus making it non-functional. Dealer says it will not repair this safety issue, since it was purchased 41 months ago and has 5,100 miles beyond standard warranty. As required safety equipment, and research on internet states, it seems this should be covered for ten years, 100K miles.

Soon after I purchased my 2012 Chrysler 200 S the rear safety belts began locking for no apparent reason. The lock was so harsh that the belt would have to be removed and reapplied. The restraint has continuously locked causing the passenger to be pinned to his or her seat. This has happened almost every time there is a passenger in the rear restraint no matter the speed the vehicle is traveling.

No seat belt warning system visual or audio on passenger seat. Is this a violation? I thought tat this was a requirement. Dealer states can not fix.
