It has done it before like 6 months after we bought it but it hasn't done it again. I thought I had turned the wrong knob so didn't really look into it much until recently. It almost got is killed. We were gettingoff an exit turning right and it died in the middle of turning. In front of the cars comingour way.. it shuts off while driving at any speed and flashes "shift to park" in order to do that you have to completely stop and shift it then turn off your car in hopes it'll start right up... it dont. We were on a busy over pass when it happened a few days ago. Yesterday (04/26/2021) we were by the court house and it done the same thing. Today (04/27/2021) it didn't even want to start. It idled high and acted like it was dying. I of course had to drive my children to school so it was scary.

Beginning at mileage 83,931 on 4/5/2021, my 2015 Chrysler 200 completely shut off and lost all power while sitting in traffic at a traffic light. The car would not budge nor restart for serval minutes, leaving me stranded at a busy intersection during rush hour traffic. After the car restarted, I drove home while the instrument panel lights would intermittently flicker and go completely dark them come back on as if nothing happened. Today, 4/6/2021, my car shut completely off, no power and no warning, once again leaving me stranded for minutes blocking traffic. The car, once again restarted after waiting approximately six minutes. This is very dangerous and can cause a serious crash and potentially kill me, my children, and other drivers on the road due to the car shutting off without warning while traveling in it. After the incident occurring today, the car behaved as if it were going to shut off while in motion; however, I was able to make it the rest of the way home without further incident.

Car shuts off while braking, and turns everything off. It also 'locks' the brake, and takes minutes to release. When this happens all lights turn off, push to start won't work, and engine will not start. The car cuts off at the most inopportune times, and makes driving extremely dangerous. It's been shutting off more frequently, and for longer moments at a time. This usually occurs on street's but has occurred in two drive-thrus. On one occasion the car shut off mid-turn. Again this makes driving incredibly dangerous, and is frustrating and inconvenient. This is my only means of transportation so driving has become a risk.

The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the brake pedal became difficult to depress as the shift to park warning light illuminated. The gear shifter dislodged in park. The contact's daughter pumped the brake pedal multiple times for the shifter to engage correctly. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed however, the mechanic failed to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. While performing a VIN search, the contact was made aware of NHTSA campaign number: 15V090000 (power train) as a possible solution to the failure however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

The vehicle would cut off after starting & driving a very short distance then the check engine/flashing lightning bolt would come on. Once the car was off and then restarted, the lights would go off and it might run fine as long as you didn't accelerate too quickly & drove a good distance without having to stop and start a lot. The issue would arise more when driving short distances with constant stops & tight turns or sometimes when having to de-accelerate quickly. Once the car was off for a second then restarted, the only light that would sometimes stay on would be the check engine light. Therefore, I took the car to an O'reillys for a free test & the only codes that came back was P0302 - cylinder 2 misfire & P2172 - throttle actuator control system. The issue had gotten worse so I had a mechanic replace all 4 spark plugs with ngk iridium plugs and the 2nd cylinder ignition coil with a Bosch ignition coil. The cylinder 2 misfire code went away when restarting the vehicle but the main issue persists, the car won't stay on & the P2172 tacs code is still present. The vehicle is unsafe & unable to drive. The date I'm using for the question of when the issue happened is when I had the spark plugs and ignition coil replaced. The original issue started around the 2nd week of December somewhere between December 10th-December 14th.

I drive to work for half hour. When driving the vehicle hard shifts between 30-35mph for no apparent reason, on the highway or in city, the whole car hard shifts and the driver and passenger can both hear and feel it. They test it and say nothing is wrong with any transmission, etc. They refuse to fix even under warranty. The car warms up for 15 minutes before driven anywhere and the temperature doesn't affect it, it divvies both summer and winter now for 3 years!! now, it pops up AWD service and they say it should have no reason to be displaying it. I'm stuck with a vehicle unsafe for my kids because no one can find an issue!

The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that the gear shifter unexpectedly shifted into neutral, the vehicle then stalled while driving 60 mph. The vehicle was restarted however, the contact stated that when the vehicle shifted into third gear, the vehicle inadvertently shifted back into neutral and stalled. The contact also stated that after setting the cruise control to a specific speed, the vehicle accelerated independently above the set speed without depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact manually turned off the cruise control. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the shifting into neutral was due to a power distribution failure and that the software needed to be reprogrammed. The dealer also informed the contact that no trouble codes were found on the cruise control and to take the vehicle to an authorized Chrysler dealer for assistance. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was not covered under NHTSA campaign number: 16V529000 (power train). The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.

Shortly after driving the vehicle after start up, it stalls and begins to quickly slow down. No warning lights, or check engine light. Once you get it stopped and restart it, it does the same thing about 3-7 miles down the road. Then it won't do it at all for the rest of the day. This has caused dangerous situations. No codes to go on for a possible problem. This model has han many many complaints for this same problem, and I believe recalled before for it, but a check of recalls for this VIN shows no un-repaired recalls. I do not know what to do at this point. Vehicle has just under 60,000 miles and is in very good condition. Dealer has stated that without codes showing up, and or witnessing the problem they really can't do anything about it. This has happened during busy traffic and caused cars to almost hit me from behind when mine stalls and slows down from no power. Luckily I have been in areas that have a shoulder to move onto. I honestly do not think I am being told everything about this problem from the dealership, because from researching it on line, I have found thousands of complaints this very same problem, and nobody seams to have a clear answer for it that I can find. I really need help with this. Thank you
