  • 55,000 miles
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. While driving approximately 40 mph, a loud abnormal noise was heard from the front of the vehicle. The vehicle began to lose power and then stalled. The contact turned the engine of and was able to restart the vehicle. In addition, while depressing the accelerator pedal to the floorboard, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The contact noticed that the front passenger side tire was leaning outwards. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the axle had detached and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000. Updated 06/02/17

The vehicle has had repeated electrical problems where the instrument panel will suddenly start flashing service transmission, service airbags, service brakes and during that time the electronic gear shift disengages from drive and alternates from park to low while the vehicle is moving. The dealership finally after two years of complaining and being turned away because the car was not storing an codes found the vehicle had a faulty electronic module in the transmission. This transmission has been service and reprogrammed 4 times since it's purchase in June of 2014 and now there is a new recall for the same issue. I'm not safe in this death trap.

Was involved in a 3 -car accident on 04/27/2016 per the way he vehicle was hit and the damages, the airbags should have deployed, no airbags deployed and car would not turn off... meaning the push to start would not turn off engine... the vehicle was in motion when accident occurred and there is no reason exactly why the airbags didn't deploy being that the axle is damaged as well.

This car was rented to me by enterprise leasing company in the chicagoland area. As I was in the process of making a left turn (West bound) onto a residential street, I had the passenger side front tire break away from the chassis causing me to lose control of the vehicle and hit two parked car. After the collision, I inspected the car and found the passenger-side front tire broken off and positioned 90 degrees (perpendicular) to the car in the wheel well. The hubcap side of the tire was facing backward, relative to the car, broken off from the lower control arm with the frame of the vehicle resting on the street.

I have been trying to get my car fixed for a year. The dealer mac haik in georgetown tx has said that they cannot replicate the problem. My car hesitates when I step on the gas and when it is put into gear it lunges. This is particularly annoying when the car first starts. I have told them over and over and they just say that their transmission man is out on leave. This is a beautiful car that I absolutely hate because of how it drives. I contacted Chrysler and they said it has to go through the dealer. I am frustrated and very aggravated. If this is the american import of the year, we are in dire straits. This is an unsafe car! this was not the car that I demoed and when I said something to the salesperson, he and the service person said that the car had to adjust to the way I drive.

I have brought my car to the dealership repair shop 18 times about something is wrong with my transmission. I have all paperwork to back it up that these technicians and Chrysler's star keep telling me that either they don't hear anything or no it's normal. Well today my check engine light came on and the screen said service transmission. But there's nothing wrong with it I thought. To make matters more upsetting to me on Wednesday the 23rd of September I got a call from the dealership if the tech can take it home overnight 9 miles away to see if what I feel or hear (hesitation, rattling, and jerking) is true. Normal yet again! by the way the airbag light is still on waiting for them to call because they are waiting to get a new wiring harness to fix the issue. The airbag part has been in the shop 7 times going on 8 and has been repaired that many times. Oh and the airbag a so called safety issue isn't really a safety issue according to the dealership and Chrysler. They sent me home with it. The same tech that said the car tranny is normal. I have children and yet they keep telling me the 2015 Chrysler 200 is suppose to be this way. Someone even had the nerve to guarantee me that if I'm involved in an accident it will deploy. Chrysler and the techs that go through all this training still can not fix a car with issues. Even with my car having stayed over the 30 day mark with the same issues that can not be resolved Chrysler will not buy back my car. Please someone look into it.

We were at a stop sign when we heard a noise and felt a jolt. We got out of the car to observe what had happened and discovered that the ball joint was not properly installed from the factory. The pinch bolt was installed but the head of the ball joint never passed completely through. When it came apart, it came apart with such force that it jerked the axel out and caused some minor body damage. The right front tire was flipped out and turned. The front end of the car was resting on the fender. As stated on the repair invoice...."lower ball joint separated from knuckle, doesn't appear to be fully installed. Replaced right front lower arm, knuckle, axel, splash shield. Relearn power steering and four wheel alignment". we were on our way to a week long vacation and had to spend it in a dealership and enterprise rental car Agency. Vehicle was not repaired when we had to leave and come home. I have videos and photos. Spoke to Chrysler care who seemed willing to work with us. I advised that my daughter was terrified to drive this car again. We had only had it 2 weeks. This was her first new car purchase. She is a full time nursing student and works a full time job. We asked that Chrysler just replace the vehicle with one of equal value and was told by the buyback department that they were refusing to do that and that this was covered under the warranty. The vehicle is still sitting at a Chrysler dealer in myrtle beach SC. It has been there over a month. Chrysler has refused to assist us. I have spoken to an attorney and was advised that I would need to sue Chrysler Corp. And the dealership. This vehicle passed 2 inspections at the dealer with faulty assembley. I have copies of all phone conversations, the time and name of who I spoke with along with a copy of the invoice. Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Driver lost control of steering while driving down a dirt road. The vehicle crashed into a tree. All airbags went off. The vehicle was un-drivable afterwards. Insurance adjuster and repair facility indicated that the left front strut had come out of it's housing and was likely the cause of the accident. During launch of 2015 Chrysler 200 at sterling heights assembly plant vehicles have had at least 30 torque failures or no reads for critical joints. Therefore torque would have to be verified manually. Unfortunately the company has not provided the proper sockets to the wrenches to verify the joints. Despite this management has pressured supervisors to leave no defects on the line. This environment has caused supervisors to buy off on unverified torque on critical safety joints.
