Brought it to the same dealer for the fourth time and they couldn't find any issues with the car. They said maybe it is the way the vehicle is. We have several cars we use that does the same thing your car does. They told me to pick it up it is something I have to get use to and deal with. Never ever go to Branhaven in Branford, CT. The service department is paying these jokers to do nothing. I am so angry with these guys they call techs. Send them back to school and certify them better.

I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALERSHIP ABOUT THE SHIFTING ISSUE ON THE 9 SPEED AUTOMATIC AND THEY MENTIONED THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE. I GOT IT DONE UNDER WARRANTY.

I bought the car on July 5, 2014. I noticed immediately that it shifted very rough. It would lunge and shift prematurely. I waited until the 4000 mile oil change figuring that sometimes transmissions need to learn your specific driving habits. It never learned. I reported this to the service person at the dealership. They said they would check the problem. They actually fixed it.
I was very happy up until the 12,000 mile oil change when they did the recall for a trans axle problem. They did the check and found that there wasn't a problem. The problem now is the transmission went back to the same problem it had when I first had the car. Now it not only shifts very roughly. As I go around corners from a stop the car lunges while shifting. It seems to shift at the wrong time. Not a smooth ride at all. Now I also hear a knocking sound when I go over small bumps. Like the shocks are failing.
I can't quite put my finger on the problem but something isn't right. It seems that after the recall check they must have done something. Like they reset the transmission to the original settings. It just doesn't feel right. I hesitate to go to the dealer until I can definitely identify the problem. I don't want to go there and have them tell me there is nothing wrong or that they can't identify what I am experiencing. I will bring it to the dealership soon. I am not enjoying my new car.

I purchased my car new in September 2014 and I'd like to start by saying that I had no problems with my car until I took it in for the Recall software flash on 05/02/2015.
Four days after the software update, the check engine light came on. I took the car back to the dealership on 05/07/2015. I'm advised that the transmission needs to be replaced. I'm not happy since the car is only 7 months old at the time but I have the work completed. I got the car back and drove the car for the next few days and everything was great. On the fourth day, I start to feel the car hesitate as I'm in stop and go traffic. It also, lunges forward as I'm trying to bring the car to a stop. At one point the car hesitated as I was crossing a busy intersection almost causing a car to hit me.
I took the car back to the dealership on 05/15/2015. I was advised that they replaced some parts and that the car was road tested and was ready for pick up. As I was driving back to work, the car started to do the same things. I called the service tech and she asked me to bring the car back in to take a test drive.
I take the car in and take a test drive with a transmission specialist. He advised me at the end of the test drive that "The jerky drive is normal for this car". I can assure you that if the car drove this way on my test drive, I would have never purchased the 2015 Chrysler 200s. I was directed to the service manager. He advised that he would talk to the district manager and see what he would be able to do. I was hoping for some good news, It was not.
They offered me a lifetime warranty on the vehicle. Although this is a very nice offer, it doesn't fix the current issues that I'm having with the car. I'd like the car to be fixed or if it can't be fixed, I feel that Chrysler should do the right thing and replace the car.

My first new car ever and this has been a horrible and time consuming experience.
After the first week of purchase my transmission starting shifting roughly. It's a 9 speed and it felt as though it was only shifting 4 and sometimes 5 gears. I took it into the dealership, they performed a TCM update. Car drove fine for about a half a day. I took it back in a week later, once I found time to leave work early enough, and was issued a loaner car. The loaner car was also a Chrysler 200 but the "C" model and It too was hard shifting (go figure).
Anywho, I got my car back after about 24hrs and was told that this time they performed a PCM update and something about "quick learn." They road tested the car for 12 miles and documented that the car now drives as designed. It drove fine for about 2 weeks. I even drove it out of state to Daytona Beach Florida the day after I picked it up. About 5 days after my trip the transmission started to rough shift again, getting worse the more I drive it. I've contacted Chrysler instead of the dealership this time and opened a case to see what can be done to permanently fix this issue.
It's driving me insane and I am not enjoying this car at all. I have a 2007 Nissan Altima and I enjoy it more than this car.

I just bought this car brand new on 4/19/15 with only 12 miles on the odometer...Yep, only 12 miles. The dealership "flashed" the transmission 4 days later with only about 200 miles on it. What the heck does "flashing the tranny do"? Whatever they did, it has made the tranny shift worse, For some reason my gas mileage is absolute crap! I cannot get it anywhere the 36 mpg they claim, can't get higher than 29 mpg on the highway.
Also, when coming to a stop, it bucks forward. Almost like it is upshifting when the brakes are applied. Kinda sketchy when I am trying to stop approaching an intersection and the car feels the need to continue driving with my foot on the gas pedal...

My daughter and I purchased the 200 on Feb. 7, 2015. My daughter was driving home from work on Mar. 12, 2015 when the MIL came on. She told me that her car had been shuddering and jerking when changing gears for about a week. Since we were out of town when it started, she just waited to tell us. We immediately called the dealership to arrange to drop it off and get a courtesy car. They told us to bring it up that evening to go in for service. The dealership service department called on Mar. 17, 2015 to say the car was fixed. They said the code was a P0303 Ignition Coil Misfire.
Picked the 200 up on Mar. 18, 2015. While driving to take it back to our daughter at work, the car jerked while changing gears, failed to downshift while going uphill, then shuddered while turning left. My husband immediately called the dealership two different times, the second time he spoke with the Service Manager John? And detailed what the car was still doing and were told to bring it back on Mar. 19, 2015. Took it back, received a rental. Called the next morning March 20, 2015 to see if they found out what was wrong. The Service Dept. manager said they were waiting on a replacement Valve Body and would install it. They called that afternoon saying the car was fixed again.
Picked the 200 up on Friday Mar. 20, 2015 about 2pm. Car jerked as we pulled out of the dealership, then shuddered. Called the service department to tell them it still wasn't fixed. The service person informed me that the transmission was a "Driver Adaptable Transmission" and would adapt as we drove it. The Service Manager was gone to lunch and I could call back in about an hour and he could explain how the transmission works to me. Called back 3-4 times in the next several hours and got no answer or got voicemail.
Drove the car over the weekend, it is still jerking and shuddering. Noticed a clank/rattle noise when I put it in park. Found a Recall on the 2015 Chrysler 200 9 speed transmission on cars manufactured through December 2014. My car was manufactured in December 2014, wonder if they will fix it now, but I doubt it.
I now have 1 Chrysler, 1 Jeep & 1 Dodge in my drive, but will never purchase another one due to Chrysler not standing behind their cars and fixing the problems. 2nd 200 with problems, 2011 now 2015. Should never have trusted all the good hype on how "improved" the 2015 200 was.
Update from Apr 25, 2015: Update: So the 200 has returned to the shop twice for the same problem: jerking and shuddering (my husband calls it a dead skip) 3/28/15- Left my daughter stranded in a high crime area. She called a police officer who came and stayed with her until we got there. My husband drove the car to the dealership and we got another courtesy car. 4/3/15- picked the 200 up from dealership, p2308 code #3 Ignition Coil Secondary Circuit Failure. Drove it home but it started the same jerking and shuddering/skipping. Called the Service Dept. they said to drive it until the MIL came on. Parked it in the drive until our daughter got home from work at 6. She left at 6:05 for dinner with friends. She called at 6:25 and said MIL came on and car not running right. Called a tow truck to tow to nearest dealership. Meanwhile, we drove to our dealership to get another courtesy car, then to pick our daughter up 50+ miles away. 4/25/15- 200 still in the service department. We have now been without the use of the 200 for 38 days and counting. Hoping Chrysler will do the right thing, but doubtful they will. We are prepared to contact a Lemon Law Attorney if Chrysler fails to do the right thing and stand behind their product. I will say the dealership staff has been very good about taking care of our needs through all this. Thankful that we purchased from such a great dealership with caring staff.

Car went from 34 mpg to 26 mpg shifts very rough between 4th & 5th gear. Almost wants to stall. No pick up if you punch it just lays there like a dead fish. Transmission never shifts into 9th gear, even at highway speeds(65 or more)

Recall- updated software flashed tcm/ecm module. Still shifting hard after recall, no problems before recall!
