Flash: 2.4L Powertrain Diagnostic and System Improvements
This bulletin involves reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with the latest
available software.
A small number of customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL)
illumination. In addition, some customers may describe engine flare at startup or idle
surge. Upon further investigation the technician may find the following Diagnostic Trouble
Codes (DTCs) set in the PCM memory:
2015 UF Vehicles with (sales codes ED6, ED8), built on or before June 16th, 2015
(MDH 0615XX).
? U0402 - Implausible Data Received From TCM (ED6, ED8).
? Engine Startup Flare and Idle Surge (ED6, ED8).
? P2172 - High Airflow/Vacuum Leak Detected.
? P1D73 - AGS Performance.
? U0140 - Lost Communication With Body Control Module.
? P0441 - Evap Purge System Performance (sales codes ED6, ED8).
? P0116 - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor 1 Performance (sales codes ED6,
ED8).
? P050D - Cold Start Rough Idle (sales codes ED6, ED8).
2015 PF Vehicles with (sales codes ED6, ED8), built on or before April 2nd, 2015
(MDH 0402XX).
? Improve cabin warm up in cold weather, when the vehicle is in park or neutral and
the temperature is between 10°F to 40°F (-12°C to 4.5°C).
? P219A - Bank 1 Air-Fuel Ratio Imbalance.
? P2172 - High Airflow/Vacuum Leak Detected.
? P1D73 - AGS Performance.
? U0140 - Lost Communication With Body Control Module.
