We were hit by a car and the car did not deploy the air bags and it cut off and all the electrical shut down and the car ignition got stuck and had to be turned over several times before it would start. I was told the problem came from the ignition switch.

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that another vehicle crashed into the rear end of the vehicle causing it to crash into the rear of a second vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy. The driver suffered head, neck and back injuries and a police report was filed. The failure was not diagnosed nor was the vehicle repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 85,000. The VIN was not available.

The contact owned a 2008 Chrysler 300. While driving approximately 35 mph, the contact loss steering control and crashed into a utility pole. The contact sustained minor injury to the tongue, suffered a broken nose and bruised ribs. The air bags failed to deploy with the force involved in the crash. A police report was filed. The vehicle was completely destroyed and towed to a salvage facility. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was unavailable.

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler 300. The contact stated that after having repairs performed on the vehicle under a manufacturer's recall for the air bags, the air bag warning lamp illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that after replacing the seats under the recall, the air bags were not installed back in the vehicle. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue who offered to cover the full cost of repairs. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was 9,000 and the current mileage was 10,058. Updated 05/11/12 the consumer stated when he purchased the vehicle, it came with cloth seats. However, the seats were changed to leather. When the vehicle was taken in for pulling to right while driving, the service tech ripped the leather with the seat belt. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop. However, it was discovered the air bag were not in the leather pockets, and it looked as thought they had been cut out. Updated 06/08/12
