There was a recall from Chrysler made for 2004-2005 Pacificas dealing with the engine cradle. They eroded and rusted through. Thousands upon thousand of cars were recalled. They than revoked it for a 2 month recall span. This problem has been deadly and fatal and has affected thousands of families. Chrysler refuses to fix the warranty that was organically wrote and sent out. They refuse to fix or acknowledge that the problem exist and is deadly for these people who drive the Pacifica as their " family transportation". in the past month my 2005 Pacifica has stalled out, died, had all roaders, breaks and control arms replaced. All new tires and now I find out my engine cradle has rusted out to where's its not drivable. Now the radio stopped working, the air wont turn on if blinkers are all, the entire electrical body has crapped out and Chrysler refuses to fix the problems they set the original recall for. There are thousands of people driving these cars with kids, what will it take for someone to fix this issue" death of thousands of kids? multiple accidents"

2005 Chrysler Pacifica. Consumer writes in regards to engine and headlight problems. The consumer stated the vehicle stalled twice, within the last 3 years. Both times, he was making a hard turn, when the engine stopped. He wa able to maintain control of the vehicle and re-started it, without any problem. The vehicle was inspected by a mechanic, who found nothing wrong, other than throttle body build-up, which he cleaned. Also, the headlight would intermittently go out. The bulb did not seem to fit securely in the harness, which caused a short and eventually the bulb blew out. The problem seemed to be more prominent on the passenger side. The driver's side bulb was less than an ideal fit, but there were no problems with it going out. The bulb was replaced numerous times, along with the wiring harness.

I was driving along returning from the market and I was approaching a redlight. I applied the brakes and all the lights begin to flicker and the car stalled. I started the car back up and the dashboard lights or cluster instrument panel was black. The headlights still work, but no brake lights. Before that my driver seat power went out and my headlight bulbs keep blowing. I don't know what to do. Im a single mom, full time worker, full time student on a very tight budget, im too scared to check if my engine cradle is rusted. I don't need anymore bad news about this car. I changed the fuse for the cluster panel and it works fine for awhile (*couple of hours) and then its back to black when I apply the brakes. What is going on? Chrysler needs to setup and fix our cars because they had no problems accepting our bailout.

Our regular mechanic has determined that the undercarriage of my car is rusted and rotted to the point where it is unsafe to drive. Car was brought in due to electrical failure as mentioned above. I have never received recall notices. I spoke with a Chrysler rep today and there is nothing we can do because its not with in the recall time frame.

When I start my car from a parked position, I put the car in reverse and it stalls out. It throws the car in neutral. I also ended up in a ditch. I had to leave the car at my job. Unable to drive it home from work. My mechanic will come and tow my car to his shop.

Since I purchased my vehicle the front low beam lights have went out numerous times while driving at night. I have had them replaced on several occasions and the problem persists. Recently I have had problems with my battery and was told by pepboys auto shop that something is draining the battery and its possibility is the exterior lighting/headlamps. Even though I continue to replace the headlamps they keep going out and my battery is being drained. After 2 batteries in 3 years I had the alternator checked and it was in good condition. I was told to look up a recall list where I found exterior lighting 05V066000 and I called. I also have had a fuel pump problem that seems to exist and no one can figure out way. After getting it fixed by the Chrysler dealership twice my vehicle will not pass smog because of another leak. I also found out that there are complaints of some similar issues fuel pump/powertrain control module software 06V432000 and I called. Please put these to issues on the recall list so that auto owners will be safe on the road and California's air will not be polluted by the fumes.

A week ago I smelled an awful burning smell coming from my 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. I took it to the mechanic for investigation and repairs needed. The car needed an alternator, water pump and serpentine belt. While they were fixing this problem I told them to investigate the rattling noise coming from the frontend. They found that the engine cradle was rusting away. The garage suggested that I contact Chrysler as this is a known problem with Pacificas but it has not been recalled. I did my research and found that there are extended warranties being offered for this issue. I called Chrysler directly and they told me because I was the second owner of the vehicle and they didn't know how the vehicle was treated and because of the mileage, they would not assist me in any way. Keep in mind I am a student and now have a car that is unsafe and Chrysler could care less!! the fight does not end here. Please contact me if you are having the same problem and what your outcome has been.

Multiple issues with this car! I will start with the problems that didn't almost kill myself and my children. The ABS light would stay on and the dealer had no resolution. The car would stall while turning. I replaced the battery five times in four years. While idling in the driveway the drivers seat reclined by itself, would not respond to the controls and started smoking! the dealer claims they could not diagnose the problem! lastly, while driving my sons to school, the car was handling poorly and because it was dark and raining, initially I believed that it was wet road conditions. To maintain control of the car, I was traveling in the slow lane and my speed was approx. 30 mph. Upon approaching the top of a small hill, the steering began to vibrate violently, at this time I believed that the car had a flat tire and that was what had caused the poor handling while driving. I immediately hit the button for my hazard lights and began to try to ease into the emergency lane and attempt to stop the car. It was instantly apparent that the car brakes and power steering were not working, which left me struggling at 30 mph and accelerating because of the I was now on the downward side of the hill, to try to maintain control of the car! I was able to keep the car from completely veering to the right and ultimately hit a 5 inch concrete curb that is a turn out for the corner gas station. Upon hitting the curb the car then sprang to the left back into the highway lane. Miraculously, no other vehicles were traveling in that lane at that moment! once, we were out of the car, I learned that the car did not have a flat tire but a part of the front end had broken and caused the passenger front tire to collapse into the wheel well...unbelievable! I believe this to be a defect of the car, in addition to he multitude of other defects of this car!!

I currently have a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica touring fwd that was purchased in 2007. Since the time of purchase I have had to replace my driver's side headlight bulb 3 times. I have placed a call to the dealer I purchased the car from and also Chrysler's customer service. They tell me that my VIN number does not appear on any recalls that they have. I however, do not understand and have never had a vehicle that has needed a headlight replaced those many times in one year.

I was driving on the freeway, and all of a sudden the car turns of. I had my niece in the car. The steering wheel wouldn't move. I could've crashed and caused a major fatal accident. Shortly after that I needed to replace the engine. Luckily I had warranty. The dealership couldn't figure out why the car would turn off. This happened about 3 times. And still does. Now im having problems with the motor. I've doesn't over 8000 dollars fixing this car out of my pocket. The car is almost paid off. I need help. I feel like Chrysler has stolen money from me since I purchased this car. Not fair. Not right.

Electrical system failure. A similar complaint was filed under ODI id 10362111. Just as in other complaints, there will be periodic flickering of the electrical components (lights, radio, ac). My ABS light and brake lights and alarm come on. The electrical arching can be heard through the speakers a series of pops. On some occasions the vehicle will not start right back up once it has been stopped. I originally noticed the problem about 8 months ago but dismissed it as a symptom of some other issue. It wasn't until the problem persisted that I realized it was unrelated to the other problem with my vehicle.

The contacts owns a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact stated that the ABS indicator would illuminate on the instrument panel intermittently and the vehicle would hesitate to stop when the brakes were applied. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic diagnosed that the anti lock brake module caused the failure to occur. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not contacted regarding the failure. The failure mileage was 55,000 and the current mileage was 100,000. The consumer stated the ABS light illuminated and the brakes went down to the floor when applied. The consumer stated the brake must be pumped prior to stopping. The brakes would sometimes catch when applied and lock up. The brake pads and sensors were replaced. The vehicle would stall upon acceleration and there was a slight kick coming from the from the front of the vehicle. The front bumper was loose. Also, there was an electrical issue underneath the ashtray; the plastic showed signs of melting and the leather on the dashboard showed signs of being parched or smoked. The shift gear would sometimes be too hot to touch. Updated 09/07/11

Electrical system failure.. the original complaint can be found under ODI id number 10362111. That complaint described the periodic flickering of any electrical equipment that was on (lights, radio, HVAC) and the intermittent ABS and brake alarms that may follow.. on one occasion since filing that complaint, all of the electrical equipment turned off. While driving in the dark, the flickering of the lights started resulting in the alarms already mentioned. Then all equipment turned off - headlights, dash lights, clock, radio, and the heating system. I was able to stop the vehicle, place it in park, and it restarted. All of the systems then worked satisfactorily for the remainder of the 30-minute trip.. on occasion, when the electrical equipment starts to flicker, you can hear what sounds to be electrical arching. It is difficult to hear where the source of the noise is. To the passenger it sounds like it is on the passenger side. To the driver, the driver's side. I believe the arching is being picked up by the radio and amplified by the radio then broadcast through the speakers.

Intermittent brake and ABS warning lights and the alarm chime. The lights will come on and off very quickly, sometimes too quick to notice. The alarms are always preceded by the flickering of any electrical equipment that may be on at the time. If the headlights are on, they will flicker as if going off. If the radio is on, the sound will go off until voltage is restored. Have taken the vehicle to the Chrysler dealer several times. They are unable to determine the cause. No codes are displayed for their computer. They replaced the battery but that did not help. The actual brakes seem to be unaffected. However, with the fluctuation of voltage and the dimming of headlights when this happens, it feels as if the car may turn off. Event happens any time - day or night. Sometimes the car can be driven and this does not occur. Appears to be totally unpredictable.

I purchased my car in 2008 and the dealer (sheehy Ford) won't even take it back. The engine light stays on and it won't pass inspection. I had to replace the obd connector and it still wouldn't pass inspection. Took it back to the inspection station and it failed because of the oxygen sensor, replaced that and took it back for the 3rd time and it failed again because the machine read: Monitors not ready. I'm starting to think that the power train and the engine are faulty on my vehicle. Sheehy knew they sold me a lemon, I've tried to have them resolve this issue numerous times and nothing. I want them to either fix the problem or give me another car. I reported them to the BBB as well and they never responded to BBB on my complaint. That looks so suspect in my eyes.

I have had so many things go wrong with my Chrysler Pacifica 2005. SUV. On Friday April 16 2010 the car stall coming off the exit ramp of route 80 in paterson, during rush hour. On Monday April it was dead and required the battery to be charge. The battery had been charge on Sunday april18. The car had to eventually be towed Tuesday April 20, 2010. This car has been in Chrysler's dealership twice in March. March 3rd for a oil change that ended up costing $392.80. March 24 it was towed in because it wouldn't turn over. You couldn't even jump start it. They replace ignition switch and cylinder. Again they replace the crankshaft seal.{ this was suppose to be fix on March 3 2010 I paid for it. Which brings me to the present the car is still at the dealership, this is the fourth day, they still don't know what's wrong with it. It could be the alternator they tell me.Chrysler never offered me a loner car because they didn't have any. How about I rent a car? goodluck getting your money back. My car has many problems starting back to Jan. 2009. I'm sure you can get the car history. It was purchase at Chrysler Plymouth of paramus in 2005 brand spanking new.
